16 Days!!! ​

I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend! DBF and I had a fun time. On Friday we, okay I babysat my nephew (DBF sat on the couch and watched TV).

On Saturday we went to go see POTC-3 irate: Not gonna give anything away, but I need to go see it again, there seemed to be a lot going on, but it was great nontheless. Gotta love Johnny Depp!

Sunday was uneventful as we did nothing really, I helped him dust his room, aren't I the nicest girlfriend? We really live on the edge dont we?

Then Monday we went to Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. It was fun, but CROWDED We decided it was great practice for Disney: too many tourists!!!

I posted this in another thread on the Theme Park/Startegies boards, but thought you wonderful people could help me out!

DBF will be spending our anniversary at MK this June. Since we are going on vacation we thought it would fun to get Disney gifts for eachother while on vacation. We already have an ADR for CRT that night which is part of his gift to me.

While I have read various threads on the DIS saying that the best gifts are things you can "do", like a special dinner, the Petty Driving Expererience or a tour, these things will be just impossible because we will be with a rather large group and we have a pretty rigid itinerary set.

I want to get him something sentimental, possibly something engraved/embroidered; just something to remember the trip and our special day. The only things I have found are either too "girly" or they just dont fit his personality. I know you can watches engraved, but he has a watch which he only wears for work. Everything else for men seems to be golf-related and he doesn't play golf. Men are so difficult to shop for!

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

The worst part is that HE knows what he is getting me already and I have no clue. This is pretty bad because I am always one to do my shopping early. If this was a normal anniversary his present would be bought and wrapped months ago! That is crazy-obsessive planner in me!! DBF always waits until the weekend or days before to go and buy something and now he tells me he already knows what he is getting me? I will not have it!!

To make matters worse he keeps rubbing it in that he knows the perfect gift to get me while I will be running around Main Street like a chicken with its head cut off. With that said I beg you fellow DISers to help me!

I only have myself to blame too, because it was my stupid idea to get sentimental presents that we could engrave...boy am I kicking myself for that now!

Gotta cut this post kinda short I got a lot of things I need to accomplish today for work! Thanks everyone!

Can you get a silver covered photo/scrap album and engrave that? I know this sounds really cheesy, but I was giving my DBF his present a few days after Valentines day once, and I made a sort of scrapbook with photos of us together over the 2 (at the time) years we'd been together - just so I could have something to give to him on the day, it turned out really great, and I didn't think he'd like anything like that cos he's a guy guy, but he was really touched by it and had no idea I'd gone to all that effort, and he got mushy on me...

I am also obsessive-compulsive about planning and am going back to school in the fall to be a teacher, so I guess it does fit!! Reading your reports have given me inspiration to do those cards and such for my upcoming trip in December!! YOU ROCK!!

Thanks for all your great ideas! DBF actually got me the Glass Slipper engraved on our 2004 trip! So we already got that. I made him a scrapbook for our 1 year anniversary & got him an engraved frame. I think I actually may have gotten some ideas, which I may post later, but I dont want him to read it and know what I am getting him.

I just found this TR today and I love it!! I love the iterniary cards and may have to steal them from you. And also I think im gonna have to take a walk to the WP with my DBF when we go to Disney in November!!! I'm so excited! I cant wait to hear more about your trip! 10 DAYS ​

I can’t even believe it! This is our last full week until we leave!

I haven’t posted an update in a while. In fact I had one all written the other day and then I ended up hitting a button on my internet browser, (btw, do not do it) when I hit the back button to return to the DIS, my post was completely gone! I was not happy and I just couldn’t muster up the motivation to re-write the post...anyways, I am over it...now.

As you can see from my previous post, I was very excited on Friday. The next picture shows how much of a nerd I am.

Yes, that is a picture of my calendar from Friday when I changed it from May to June. I was so excited I had to take a picture to post on the DIS! I told you I was a nerd. Do not judge me.

In other PRE Trip Reporting news, I need to repack my suitcase. I need rearrange some stuff—meaning I need to get creative with my packing so that I can make the most of my space, as in suitcase space, not myspace the website, which I have btw, if anyone out there has one you can visit me at www.myspace.com/cinderella16 (I think I may have it set to private though, so just add me as a friend then you will become privileged enough to view my profile)

I also want to share this picture with you guys...

The fur-ball you see there is my dog Gigi. And yes she is posing with Donald Duck. She is madly in love with that Duck. I had to put him on a higher shelf in my room because she kept stealing Donald. She wouldn’t chew him up or anything, she would just run like the wind when she got her paws on that duck, and then growl at anyone who dared tried to take her Donald away. I am thinking about buying myself a new one when we go down there this month and let her go to town with the older one. I just don’t know why she is obsessed with it! It is sorta weird because I have so many stuffed animals and she chooses that one out of all of them...go figure, she goes for the most expensive stuffed animal, that Donald cost some $18.00 or something. Yikes!

I can’t believe that I only have 10 more Disney Countdown Characters to send DBF. Here is just a quick recap of what I have sent him over the last 10 days or so.

Lastly, Does anyone else know if it is completely normal to feel nervous before vacation, Cathy I know you get the nervous feeling! I get this nervous feeling before I go anywhere on vacation, and we aren’t even flying. It is like I am so excited for days on end and then all of a sudden I realize that we leave so soon that I start to get nervous..I don’t know if it is normal or completely insane...oh well I am sure once we hit the road I will be fine! I was just wondering if this happens to anyone else.

OMGosh...that was hilarious....I love the recap and all!
I realized why I was nervous...we went from waiting to realizing we had to get our butts in gear and start packing. Wondering if I had everything was making me nervous. Now that I made a few more shopping trips and have started packing I am calming down. My thing is I am in charge of myself and three other people plus a little bit for my DH.

My dd2 has that very same Donald and she can't sleep without it!! We don't know how it came about, but she developed a Donald obsession all on her own, so we ordered this for her!!
