Am I the only one who is NOT looking forward to snow ? i just hate the cold, slippery roads . well snow is pretty but i just hate winter..i will be glad when i live somewhere warm when i retire..
my dream is to have a palm tree in my back yard!!

My sentiments exactly!!! I am NOT looking forward to winter at all, especially driving in it.:p

I know that I'm not looking forward to snow. I like it for about a week around Christmas, but that's it. If only Mother Nature would listen to my pleas.

Hate it, hate it, hate it.
Did I mention I HATE it?
I would move to warmer digs in a heartbeat. DH won't go though. SO we are stuck here.....

I don't even need snow on xmas like everyone else seems to want. Couldn't care less if I never saw snow again.

Its coming though:( :( :(

Nope...you're not alone! I hate the snow! I never liked it as a kid either. It's pretty to look at...but for me - that's it. I hate to see the warm weather go too.

My goal is to decorate a palm tree for xmas. As a matter of fact I just bought a lighted artificial palm tree and I have it in my family room.

I hate, hate, hate it. I hate the cold, I hate the ice and slush and mess and just the whole burden of winter. I hate having to wear all those clothes and having to dig the house and car out and the cold house in the morning. Did I say I hated winter??????

I hate the snow too, but not as much as my DH does. He was soooooo bummed about the snow yesterday:( It makes it harder that we built a house in FL that we can't move into just yet. Hopefully we'll be there in a few more months. Winter rots!

I like 1 big snowfall for the season and then have it melt totaly the next day or 2. After that its one big, dirty, sloppy mess. And driving in the ice is trecherous. I don't mind driving when the snow is coming down, but when it turns to ice, I stay in.

Cold weather is reason #1 why I could never live in the north. In fact, I think that is the only reason.

I love to have a white Christmas, but that's it. I don't like driving in it at all! Fortunately, the winter's don't seem that long here. I don't think that I could take much more than we get. However, we will probably be moving back to Florida in the next few years, so I'll try to appreciate the seasons while I have them. ;)

I love snow! I love how quiet things become. I love how it kills off all the warm weather pests. I love the way it crunches beneath your feet. I love the way the early morning sounds when you have a large accumulation and are woken by the whirr of snowblowers and the scrapes of shovels. I love it when it falls on your eyelashes. I love the way nobody in my town except me goes out on the road after even a light dusting. I love the smell of it. Yes I love snow. I'm leaving the Midwest and moving to Souther California. I will definately miss the spontaneous snow, and will have to drive to see it, but rest assured, I will find it. (Though I won't ever have to shovel it! :smooth: )

Keep the Faith!

I'm with you Tracy. I love the snow. We're waking up to a little over 4" of the white fluffy stuff this morning and it's great. Our first snowfall of the season. It truly looks like a winter wonderland outside my window right now.

Go live in a warm climate several years and then you will appreciate it. :teeth: Fifteen years in FL was enough for me! Moved to a state with seasons and looking forward to snow this winter!!! I hope we get some. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/28/28_4_10.gif' alt='Snow Angel' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_4_43.gif' alt='Snow Flake 3' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/1052.gif' alt='Sleigh' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/28/28_4_7.gif' alt='Snowball Fight' border=0></a>

I know how you feel - for years I went into a depression during the winter - the cold and snow drove me crazy! My only good times were when we would go South for a week or so. I would feel better for a couple of weeks.

Now the kids are all in college or graduated from college and we leave the 1st of December for Florida and don't come back until mid March. Depression free! I think I had the type where if you don't have sunlight that it was triggered. It has truly been a blessing.

That said - I don't think I could handle the heat down south year round. Even the beginning of March gets a little warm for me. I love the seasons here in Iowa but I don't miss the snow & cold at all.

I MUCH prefer living in a warm climate - I'm a wimp when it comes to cold weather. It wasn't the snow that bothered me so much. What I really disliked was the totally gray days - overcast, no sun, for DAYS on end. I can deal with cold days as long as there is sunshine somewhere along the way.

I hate snow, 2 hr weather school delays, driving to work at 6:30 am in the dark on snow/ice covered roads, people who tailgate on icy roads, who think that 45mph is too slow on bad roads, etc, etc.

I agree PinWiz....I've lived in texas most of my life and am so tired of sweating 9 months out of the year. Here we only have two seasons- slmost summer and so hot I'm melting summer. Give me snow anyday, all wrapped up in a cozy blanket in front of a fire watching the snow fall....sounds great!! anyone want to switch?
