Does anybody leave out their snowmen/snowflake decor throughout winter? DD-8's teacher said she leaves up her tree with snowflakes and snowmen throughout winter. What do you guys do??? :wave2:

Yes - I've done this.

I have a lighted snowman outside that I left out last year until the end of Feb.

I leave my snowman up in the kitchen and living room as well.

Leaving snow decor up all winter sounds great! We once left a Christmas tree up 3 years! We won $1,000 for each year it was left standing. Our friends (and us too) have got some strangeness going on! :teeth: ;)

Always leave up my snowmen/winter decor!!!
It is just like putting out Valentines and Easter decor, isn't it?
Unless the snowmen are Christmasy they stay out till end of Feb.

I hate winter. I'm going to put a palm tree outside. :cool1:

Snowmen and the Dept 56 New England Village (really wintery) stay out all winter. Course in my room the snowmen stay out all year :teeth:

This is still on our mantle:

When I put the christmas stuff away, the snowmen will come out and remain through the end of Feb, maybe into march.

I just asked my DH if the neighbors would think we're crazy if we left the icicle lights up. After all, they're icicles. They scream winter, not Xmas! I love the way they look on our house.

Snowmen should stay out through Winter, at least that is what I've been telling my sister who decorated with tons of them this year. I don't see why they should be put away after Christmas since they are a symbol of winter.

A former Boyfriends Mom would decorate a tree for every season. So she had a christmas tree all year round. It was nice, really.

I have a couple of cute snowmen that I leave out. I also have these lovely lacy woven snowflakes that I put on the glass doors of my china cabinet in the dining room that I leave out.

I don't know that I'd want a tree in my house all winter, especially if it is a full-sized tree (and I would assume artificial). Maybe if my tree was alittle table-top one, I might consider, but after a while, I'd get sick of vacuuming around the tree etc.

My friend does that. She has a thin tree in a corner that she decorates for every holiday. She does it in a way that it doesn't look tacky.

I decorate my powder room downstairs in a "winter/bird/pinecomb" theme that I keep up after Christmas.

We have the North Pole Village. I try to leave it out but it has too much Santa going on. What I will do this year is leave our white tree up (we keep two trees during the season), put clear lights on, and leave snowmen ornaments on. If there's time, my kids can make paper chain garlands and ornaments.

I actually have 3 Isabel Bloom snowmen that stay out all year round. I collect "Izzy's" and one's a figure skater (like dd) and one's a hockey player (like ds) so I keep them on the shelf year-round. The rest of my snowpeople go away the end of March, or when the snow melts.

Yes, exactly! A thin, tall tree that she keeps in a corner. At spring it's decked out in the most GLORIOUS silk flowers and ribbons. In Autumn, again pumpkins and such. It's a lot of work but WOW. what a statement. I really miss her seasonal tree, and I miss her. She was a wonderful Woman. When I talk to her son (who is now married) I always ask about her, and ask him to tell her hello.
