Snow Days....Smow Days! I AM BACK 6/12

I second this! :thumbsup2

This will be our first 50's PTC visit (after having to youtube videos and convince DH that its all in GOOD fun). I'm looking forward to the antics, and really hoping we have a great server who wants to play that night!

Have that camcorder rolling at all times and ENJOY your meal ... even if you have to go sit in time out. :lmao: (Hey, its a break from the kids and/or DH, right? :worship: :rotfl2:)

I am going to have to give my vote as well. 50's in the first ADR I made and had actually the only one I wanted ( but than I mad another, and another, and than it just made sense to do the DDP:lmao:)

I hope to get a waiter who wants to play as well. I am hoping that if he knows we are celebrating DS's b-day that it wil happen. Can't wait:thumbsup2

I think it makes it even MORE magical pixiedust:, knowing that there will be lots of DISboard pals experiencing this. We will definitely have to take lots of pics for our TRs. :thumbsup2 I cannot wait to go and to read about everyone else's adventures, as well!!!! SO MUCH TO LOOK FORWARD TO!!! :cool1:

So glad you found me!!!! :welcome:
You will have such a fabulous time at 50's PTC. Remember every one will be harrassed  which adds to the magic :wizard: and it is all done in fun. The memories will last a lifetime for a little embarrassment at the cafe.:lmao: I try to see it more like a comedy show and the waitress/waiters are just acting the part. :rotfl: Sci-Fi is pretty neat, too, if you like a more low key dining experience. :rotfl2:

Well, I chickened out!!:rotfl2: I took a look at some of the youtube videos of the 50s Prime Time (didn't realize they had restaurants on youtube) and Dh and I both feel it would be too stressful for me to go somewhere like that. I am someone who nearly had a panic attack when we got in to the Monsters Inc Laugh In thing and I realized that the audience could be part of the show....I have no memory of the whole thing other than taking deep breaths and keeping my fingers crossed that I would not be one put on the screen!!! I know it's all in fun, but I can't handle being front and center, the less attention paid to me the better......so imagine how hard I was trying not to cry when I was on ToT so that no one would see this grown woman sobbing in fright!!!:rotfl2:
So, being the chicken that I am, I cancelled our reservations for 50s Prime Time and made one for the Sci-Fi instead.

Awww, I'm sorry that you cancelled, but I can understand your reasons.

And don't worry about crying on ToT. I did. And I'll be doing it again this year. :lmao:

Sci Fi was great! We absolutely loved it last year. I had the steak salad and it was MMmmmmmmmm! Can't wait to hear what you think about it! :thumbsup2 (Sorry, didn't mean to threadjack, TK. :rotfl2:)

Well, I won't have to worry about crying on ToT as I will never get on it again! :rotfl2:
We actually ate at Sci-Fi on our last trip and did really like it. We were thinking we'd like to try something new and that's why we were going to go with 50sPT.

Yes, I agree, MARSmama, you should definitely cancelled if it evokes that much anxiety. WDW is supposed to MAGICAL :wizard: and not too stressful. You can live vicariously through me when I tell about it on my TR. :lmao: I hope our waiter is not too crazy. I am feeling a little apprehensive now, too. I didn't know about the timeouts.... I may have to check out this youtube everyone keeps talking about. :rotfl:

 I feel like I am coming down with a cold. I just keep telling myself that it is allergies, but it is not the usually itchy nose and throat. My nose is on fire and my throat feels sore. I guess if I have to be sick, I should just be thankful to get it out of the way now and not have it in May when I am heading to Disney.

More planning to come!!!
I am officially in the '40's (days)!!!! I am SO EXCITED....sniffle, sniffle!

You to?!? I feel down right horrible this morning. I am glad that I don't have to work, but how I am going to get through the day watching my active 3 year old I don't know. I just want to curl up on the couch and fall asleep, but if I do DS with be climbing the washer in the kitchen and getting into the sweets.:scared1: I seem to getting something every month so I am thinking about getting some EmergenC or other prevenative before going to WDW. Sick at Disney. . .that would really suck.:mad:

I am so excieted that we are in the 40's. Before you know it we will be in the 30's, than at a month, and than WDW.:yay::yay:Alright, I am getting a little a head of myself.:lmao:

You are lucky to not have to venture onto ToT. :worship: It's DD's favorite ride, and DH refuses to do ANY thrill rides ... so if she wants to ride (and she will), its all on me to take her. :scared1: She will be dragging me through the line, and I will be crying my eyes out and everyone will be staring at the mom who's scared to ride. :lmao:

TK, I agree that cancelling was a great thing for her to do to keep her vacation magical! :thumbsup2 However, my friend, you gotta endure 50s PTC with me. :p I want to video swap our experiences. It'll be a blast!

Feel better soon! But at least you're getting the sickness out of your system before you arrive at WDW!

Grats on 40 days and can't wait to hear more planning! popcorn::

Sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well either, Corrine!
I think we need to get all this sickness out the way, so we can truly enjoy our trip and Emergen-C will probably help, too. I have used the Airborne before, too.

Yes, I am still planning on going to 50's PTC. I am sure DH is hoping I get harrassed this time and not him. Cannot wait to compare notes!!! :rotfl: I am still going to check out youtube, though. :sad2:

Thought I would post a pic of my other kids.

2 kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats.....everyone needs a friend or it might be Noah's Ark.... :lmao:

We also have 3 fish tanks with goldfish and African cichlids.
YES, I am an animal lover. I am thinking about charging admission to enter my zoo, it might help bring in a little extra $$ for my upcoming trip!....:rotfl2:

It does make it a little more stressful planning a vacation when you have to worry about what to do with the animals while you are away. Does anyone else have this issue?? What do you do with your animals when you are a way?

Cute pets!!! :lovestruc

We just have 1 cat and I've been trying to figure out what to do with her while we are gone. Option 1 is if my niece is still in town that week and not on her vacation, we will get her to house sit and take care of the cat. She's 19 and would enjoy staying here and the 1 person we would trust to stay here. But if she's not available, then either my mom or my friend will have to come by every day or at least every other day and feed her. :)

we have 2 kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats too! We used to have 3 cats
If we're just going away for a couple nights we'll board the dogs and let the cats have the house to themselves (we've got a big self feeder thing and just come back to a very full liter box). But for longer than 2-3 nights we get a pet sitter. It's always cheaper to get someone to stay at our house than it would be to pay for 4 animals  Anyway, we usually pay my little brother, but this time a friend of mine from church sent me a facebook message volunteering to do it for FREE if I needed someone :cool1: We were planning on paying my brother $150, so we thought we'd bring her back a souvenir as a thank you, maybe with a gift card to a local restaurant. Still haven't decided exactly what, but something to say thank you :)

The past two years, I've had mom and/or my sister check on Stormy (my devil kitty) daily. My cat is weird, and he will only drink running water (so he has to be watered daily). I don't ask them to change his litter or anything, so I just setup a 2nd box and that's the first thing I do when I get home. He's free-fed, so he has the feeder setup, but I still have them check to make sure he has food. Even though he won't drink from a bowl, we still leave him water in a bowl (which I have mom/sis check to make sure it isn't dirty). I also leave toys for them to play with him, but they aren't brave enough. :lmao:

I checked out putting him in a kennel in 2009 and it broke my heart. The arrangements were clean, but the boxes were small and they stay in the box the whole time. Cats get no exercise (dogs are walked several times a day and have a dog yard to play in). The vet said that they brush the cats while they clean out the litter boxes daily, but that was it. They get no playtime. :sad2:

Thanks for the compliment! :worship:
My mom said she would watch Dex, our yellow lab, since he so laid back. We are still trying to figure out what we are going to do with our wild one, Daisy. She is so high energy that a lot of people shy away from taking her. She has really calmed down, though, since she hit the 2 yr. mark. I think everyone still remembers what a terror she was as a puppy...:scared1: and not sure they could handle her.
Hopefully, your niece will be available. That sounds like a win, win for everyone!!!! :goodvibes

What kind of dogs do you have?
You are very lucky to have someone offer to do it and for free to boot! That is awesome!!! I think a gift card is a great idea! :thumbsup2 Who doesn't like to eat???? :lmao:

That is what I am planning to do in a moment. I have DS sitting here next to me and am sure he will get a kick out of it!!!!:)

That is too funny about Stormy only drinking water running from the tap. My sister had a cat that did the same exact thing. I think they just like it fresh. :lmao: But, I am sure that does make it difficult to go away knowing he will only drink running water. I guess if he did get thirsty enough he would drink from the bowl.
Why is it that mom/sis won't play with devil kitty? :rotfl2:

We are leaving our cats here, since my mom/sis live about 5 minutes away and have them keep a check on them with food/water/litter boxes. My mom (who is not in the best of health) is keeping Dex (since he is laid back) and not sure what we will do with Daisy. It breaks my heart to have to put her in the kennel. She is severely fearful of storms and it also makes me very sad to think of her being in the small caged encloser with all the other dog, especially, during a storm. She has a bad history (from her puppy days) at the kennel, too. We had sent her for training when she was just a pup and she tried biting one of the trainers. So I am sure they have a big bright "BITER" tag on her file. I don't think they would allow her in the play yard with the other dogs because of that. It just seems like prison to me. I know I will not enjoy my trip to it's fullest with her in there....:sad1: I have an idea; we can drop Daisy of with you on our way through TN.....:rotfl2: You should be back from your trip by then!!! :lmao:

Sorry to hear about Daisy. I know it has to be rough trying to make arrangements for your furbabies when they have a sad history like that.

However, if you drop of Daisy here, DH would be thrilled. I'm sure DS will attempt to ride her as a horse, DD will make her pretty bows to wear, and I'll just lock myself in the closet until you come back for her. :lmao:

I had promised that I would post a pic of my new orthodic flip flops. The soles are made out of Thermo-Moldable Foam. They have directions on them to put them in a oven warmed to 225 degrees for 3 minutes and then stand in them for 2 min. so they can form to your feet. I had checked reviews and there were others who had worn them to Disney with no issues. So, I thought I would give them a try.

My DD painted my toenails. She did a great job!:lovestruc

I have never seen a pair a flip flops with arch support. :confused3

IMG_1860.jpg

Look at this tread. I don't think I will be slipping in these. :)

IMG_1859.jpg

They are Montrail Molokini's and I am hoping I have good luck with them while I am on my marathon walking adventure in Disney. I am currently wearing them to see if they are going to cause any issues. So far so good, they seem pretty comfy. :thumbsup2
