I've been told that during the xmas period it snows down main St, is this true please ?

yes it does :goodvibes - its amazing, i defy you not to get shivers up your spine when it happens!

I swear I get a lump in my throat every time I think about this happening when we're there

And some times you get real snow too...

These are from our Christmas trip in December 2010.

oh I remember.

the worst part was when it started to melt ...
Cast Members trying to push the 2 or 3 inches of ... whatever that mess was ... out of the pathways.

so miserable that in the end, we used the gift shops' plastic bags to wear over our socks in order to waterproof the shoes a bit more.

epic (and fun, but cooooold time) :p

Main Street snow is great, but DLP covered in real snow brings it to the next level of magic (until it melts, but even then it was fun ... weird fun, but fun :) )

:)

We had to do this too!

Those photos bring back wonderful memories, would love to do a Christmas season trip again.

Oh I would have loved to have seen the real snow!!

We were there just before Christmas last year and didn't see the Main Street snow much at all, except at 2 points.

Firstly - and I'll never forget this - on DD's 4th birthday we were watching the lighting of the tree bit, and near the end the snow started falling. She spotted it and shouted (so loud that most of the people near us could hear!) "IT'S SNOWING!!!!!!!". Was wonderful!! lol

Then on our last morning, as we were heading down Main Street towards the exit to head home, it started again - perfect timing! Brilliant final memory!

We had a light flutter of snow in January during the tree lighting in Main Street USA and that was nice.

Later is snowed somemore while we were on our cocktail bar tour of the hotels around the lake and we were passed by one of the small snow snowploughs gritting the paths near the Sequia Lodge with it's bright orange lights flashing.

He saw I had my camera out and he stopped and waved for a photo. He was dressed for the snow and in a yellow waterproof safety suite and wearing mouse ears :rotfl2: His little snowplough had Disney characters painted on it too. Now there is somthing you would not see in WDS.

Do you still have the picture? I would love to see him in his mickey ears. I love the way they can corporate the Disney magic into everyday situations.

Great pictures jonjo!

I love the snow in DLP, it makes me cry every time! I love the flurries later in the day as the light is fading and all the lights are coming on.....magical :santa:
