Any recommendations for snorkeling excursions? I'm just a novice swimmer. My husband really wants to snorkel. He already knows how to swim/scuba dive. We were thinking of SeaFun Shore one when we're in Kauai.

I did a similar-sounding excursion a few years ago and it was great. Got to snorkel in a gentle wave-action area and saw lots of sea life: fish and sea turtles. They had a surfboard with rope handholds for the novices to hang onto which made it easy.
It was so much fun that I’ll be going on the Seasfun excursion this trip hoping it will be similar.

Hanamua Bay might be the best known. The drive there, once you get away from Honolulu, is pretty spectacular, and the bay was still pretty nice for visitors last time we were there. There are tours that go there if you want, or Uber for less than $50 each way, or the bus for a few bucks each. Just depends on your time and budget.

I would also recommend Hanauma Bay. It’s a pretty protected cove, so for a novice snorkeler there are things that you can see right off the beach. Someone who is more experienced can swim out past the reef area into deeper water.

We did Maui, Molokini Crater also, on Red Boat Line. Swimming with sea turtles and snorkeling out by Molokini was great. Kids and I agree it was the favorite thing we did in Hawaii and we did Road to Hana, Alauni, ziplining and Kauai open door helicopter tour.
