Im going on a Disney Cruise with my family this summer and Im looking at doing an excursion in Alaska for my BF and I this summer. I saw the snorkeling in Ketchikan and was wondering if anyone had any input on this? Is it worth it? Did you book through Disney or another service?

We booked with DCL and enjoyed it. The guide talked to you about sea lives in the area. I was too focused on taking pics with my underwater camera and didn't follow closely enough to learn everything. There were lots of fishes, crabs and starfish to see. DD (was 18 then) did follow closely and she said there were some interesting facts to learn. The guide took out sea cucumber, starfish and crab for us to hold and touch. Then carefully put them back. It's a struggle to put the wet suit on but it kept us warm. We went in late August on a cloudy day. It rained a bit first but this is the only excursion that the rain doesn't matter. It's quite a bit of walking from the van down to the bay. We had 3 guides with 12 snorkelers. Afterwards we showered outside and get changed into dry clothes inside.

I think it's worth it and a great talking point. Snorkelling in Alaska! Most Alaskan excursions are expensive and this is a less expensive one. I would rather do this excursion than watching people cutting logs. I enjoy active fun more!

Hope this helps! Have fun planning!
