in case you havent heard, at the shipwreak snorkel tour you can do what is called SNUBA. its part snorkeling and part scuba. you are hooked to a air tank by 25 feet of air hose and you and swin around the bottom. i have a fear of sharks and i didnt want to leave after beening down for 30 minutes. the extra cost is $40 and well worth the cost. if you dont bring cash they will go back to the ship with you to get the money. they are great people. i cant wait to do it again. i loved feeding a spotted morray eel. ask questions and ill try to answer.

I assume this doesn't require any type of SCUBA certification? (Or any previous training for that matter?)

Is all equipment (mask, fins, weight belt) provided?

Were you down for a continuous 30-minute block, or did you surface several times?

Lastly, do you remember what the minimum age requirement is?

Thanks...This seems similar in concept to the EPCOT Seas Aqua Tour (which I have also wanted to try). Sounds like fun!

all equipment was included. yes we were under for 30 continuous minutes and i didnt want to come up. i think there was no real age requirement except you need to know how to swin. it was a great time. we saw 3-4 young teens on the snuba trip with us. i hope this helps

They also only have 11 positions available so if you want to do it make sure you let them know when they first mention it.

DH and I were the last 2 to dive so we kinda had our very own personal tour.

It was really cool to hold a sea urchin in the palm of my hand and the guide even took our underwater camera from DH and took a picture of the 2 of us hanging on to the side of the shipwrecked boat.

Just remember if you do want to do this excursion that you have to be able to pop your ears on the way down. I couldn't get mine to pop the entire dive and when we surfaced I had a bloody nose and my ears are still giving me fits a week later.

My mother and I have signed up for this excursion! (We'll be there in less than a week) Whooo Hooo! :hyper:

But Here's My Question...

Neither of us have snorkeled or scuba'd before...

Listening to the description of SNUBA...It sounds phenomenal! But..Would you recommend it for first timers?!?!?

We would love to touch/interact with the sea life...is that not an option if we just do snorkel?

Thanks for any input!!
