Did anybody see this clip from last night's SNL with Jim Carrey where they do a parody of a ride-through animatronic attraction? They do such a great job of imitating the AA figures!!

I admit they would seem a little creepy if you were stuck in there alone at night and they just kept singing...

Although still a little weak, that SNL was the best of the season so far...

Jim Carrey could make reading the phonebook entertaining.

This particular skit would have given me all sorts of nightmares as a little kid. Even now, I still think it's kinda creepy.

I completely agree. It didn't really get funny until the end, which is strange for SNL. Usually it's the opposite.

I wondered the same thing myself a while ago when I was watching The Polar Express. That movie creeps me out to no end! So I googled why and stumbled upon this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley

The AA's don't creep me out, but I can't bring myself to watch that movie again.

Wow, that's really interesting. That explains why Pixar tends to stick to (mostly) nonhuman characters.
