SNL 50th Should Be Epic!

Couple things…

I’m amazed how many never heard of Bill Burr.
Chappelle was great and he wasn’t going to do the show unless he got to do it his way. He is the greatest.

Not sure which episode or even what season, but Nate Bargatze / General Washington is hilarious!!
Part 1 and Part 2 (not sure if there is more)

I thought Timothee Chalamet's episode was one of the worst I've seen in some time. 😂

BUT loving the SNL docuseries on Peacock. Watched 3 of the 4 episodes so far and still have to catch the music one. Plus, the Saturday Night movie is on Netflix.

They added some SNL 50 merch to the Fallon exit store at Universal. I might want to pop in to check out what they got.

NBC will reair "Ladies and Gentlemen/50 Years of SNL Music " tonight at 8 EST and the original SNL episode will air in the usual 11:30 EST slot.

Not enough historic clips, too many live skits. Some of their comedy was cutting edge, more than enough to fill three hours.
ARE YOU TAlKING TO ME...keep on slicing New York...and my local TV station was caught off guard

Paul Simon and Paul McCartney.. to the front of the group
And Martin Short the only one making 🤑 🤑 🤑 money....well okay... Jimmy and Seth are gainfully employed also

...so maybe the Christmas and Thanksgiving specials have been filling that void... after all... what are you going to do with bags and bags of cut gags from Mainway enterprise

Paul and Paul were kind of sad.

939 shows. If you ran them back to back it would take over 58 days to air them. I think there is enough material there. Okay, yes, there were many seasons that sucked, but still plenty of material to draw from.

Well both are rooted in our psyche...who are they rooted to???...I like the 9/11 segment...it will be my greatest take away from both anniversary events and the new York skit...I wonder how much of that went over folks head... they had the skyscraper 🦉owl

My wife not a fan and she was shocked at Meryl.... I saw more of a Stick it the man/ haters with O'Connor and tearing apart New York

I agree, especially McCartney, whose voice was very weak. But I’m glad they let him perform as scheduled, despite going overtime. Both of those guys are in their 80’s now, but are legends and deserve the recognition.

The film with John Belushi at the cemetery was eerie and a weird choice, IMO. I feel like they could have done more to honor those who have passed, including Belushi, Gilda Radner, and Phil Hartman, who got only a very brief clip. Steve Martin alluded to it in an intro that turned out instead to be about sketches that haven’t aged well.

Seems like Dan Aykroyd was the only surviving original cast member who didn’t attend.
