snicker salad

Just read the thread about snickerdoodles and thought of a recipe I just received from a friend at a party. It's an easy one and hard to describe other than to say it's addicting.

3 or 4 large granny smith apples
1 small bag of snack size snickers candy
1 container cool whip

Cut snickers and apples up into small pieces. Mix well with cool whip.

Enjoy!

When I saw your title I was reminded that recently my Mom & MIL went to our state fair and they had DEEP FRIED SNICKERS. I am not kidding...they sound gross to me but both of them said they were delicious

I am up in Fairfield (near SF) and I'm talking about the California State Fair in Sacramento.

It grossed me out but they both swore it was so good. I guess they dip the snickers in some kind of dough (my Mom said like a doughnut dough) and then fry it. It comes on a stick.

They also saw deep fried Twinkies on a stick. That's not so wierd to me since a Twinkie is already like a doughnut..but a snickers bar??? I don't know! I love fair food but that may be too much

They had deep fried snickers at the WI State Fair. They dipped it in funnel cake batter and it came out looking like a corn dog on a stick!!! They also had deep fried oreos...........
I did not have either - had to save my calories for a cream puff

Too funny! They have chocolate dipped cheesecake on a stick at our state fair. My friend and I always laugh and say if you can fry it, or serve it on a stick, they'll have it at the State Fair.

I've had the snickers salad and it's really good!

My Wisconsin friends love their Fried Cheese Curds and Elephant Ears from the Wisconsin State Fair... The Cheese Curds made me LOL when I first heard the name...

Peter Pan Fan.. I am down the I-5 from you... I am sorry that I missed the deep fried snickers thing... well maybe not.. I do love funnel cakes.. but I like them with just a dusting of powdered sugar. I love going to street festivals around here.. there is this guy who sells HUGE fresh onion rings and fried zuccini spears..OMG!! YUMMM!

cgcw.. I am going to use this Snickers recipe as a treat for a party we are throwing at the end of Sept. I was thinking of using a combination of red and green apples and maybe tossing in a cup of toasted pecans.. what do you think guys??

mamajoan - that sounds goooood. You could also do peanuts instead of the pecans since there are peanuts in snickers. I think either way it would be yummy!

A caramel apple would be a great description of this salad. WOW...that exactly what I couldn't put my finger on to describe it originally. Probably because I don't care of caramel apples -- sticky and you have to eat around the core. Thanks for describing it.

Cheese curds are yummy. My DS7 loves to order them when we go to Culvers. Deep fried Twinkies and Snickers -- not sure I'm ready to explore those yet.
