Months ago, I've been diagnosed with the WDW-virus. The only treatment; regular WDW-shots. Poor me has to get my next treatment during the christmas fun of december 2008. :lmao: :thumbsup2

I just knew I would infect my parents bad enough one day. My dad hates amusementparks and looked at WDW as just another of those pesky places. He kept telling everybody "you'll never see me in America, I don't like the new security regulations, you'll never see me going there even if it is to fly over it". I just knew it! Mom was a sucker to infect and dad just couldn't keep staying healhty.

Show them pics of my last trip in September and the lovely tropical looks of CBR. Seeing all of the pics of the different boats around WDW. Look dad; you don't need to ever hit a park, you can ride all kinds of boats all day long -he's crazy crazy for boats-. Look dad; you can eat fish all week, something different for each meal. Look dad; hammocks at the beaches at CBR.

So when I was there last week, I told them; hey guys, I'm going back in december 2008, I want to see the christmas stuff. Look, pics of MVMCP. Look, pics of Osborn lights -dad is such a big sucker for lights lights lights with christmas, which is becoming more 'normall' for here, but NO way near the way it is in the US, let alone WDW- look, pics of the different resorts with their decorations and trees.

I think the christmas tree of the Yacht Club did it. Only thing he said was; "a photo with boats in the tree? Gotta see that one, come on woman, skip those other pics, get to the one with the boats" and after seeing it; "that's our tree, I need to get me one of those".

I'm not supposed to know, but my mom is terrible at keeping secrets for me. She confirmed what I allready senced; they're thinking about coming along with me. That guy that tells everbody he hates that 'kid stuff', won't go to America and will never go to a disney park. He's thinking of coming along. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

That's great! I hope he really does come and LOVES it! Nothing like a little Disney magic to turn someone around. :cool1:

I was laughing so hard while I was reading your post.
I don't have anybody in my family who is against Disney, but last year when we went for Christmas my Dad was positively giddy. We drove down, because the high school band was marching in one of the parades, and my brother is in the band. We went to "support" him. Anyways, we drove from Kansas, which is about 20 hours. It was like the worry and stress were slowly peeling off layer by layer. I have never seen my father like that before. He rarely takes off time from work for pure fun.

I hope your Dad has a wonderful time, and decides America is not so bad. I cannot wait to get back! At the moment, I am doing a semester of study in Prague.

Your story was great. I was cracking up as that was my father also. Back in 2005 when we were planning our trip I asked my parents if they wanted to go. My mother was all for it and my father said that he was not going, it just another place, I've been to an amusement park before, I don't need to go.

Well, needless to say, we all went in December 2006 :rotfl: and now he can't wait until we go back. :lmao: He thought it was just a wonderful place and I just looked at him and said I told you so. Hope your father really does change his mind and decides to go with you all. He will have a blast.

CBF, he'ld better like it! ;)

A lot has changed since. Later that day he made a remark that blew his cover. So I toyed with him a bit like 'why tell me to book 14 days, I can't afford that, who do you think is gonna pay, santa claus?' And low and behold; 'not santa, but I'm paying'. They're coming, they're on the ressie and they're paying for the added 5 days. He would never do that if he really really hated something. He'ld sent me and pay, but never go himself.

He's coming along, but untill then he's trying his best to annoy my mom and me to death with his perfect Grumpy impression. Grmbl, Disney, grmbl, I don't know if I'll go, grmbl, I don't want to see any maps you brought because mom wants to see them, grmbl, grmbl, grmbl.

Knowing him it's becoming an act also, and we love playing right along and annoy him to death by teasing. He'll come and he'ld better love it. Or else! Maybe I'll have to make a treat of leaving him at WDW untill he likes it. ;)

To surprise them, I snuck behind their backs and changed the last 2 days of our ressie from CBR to AKL concierge. Knowing him, he'll be grumpy about that as soon as he founds out untill he hits AKL. He'll love it, he just doesn't want to know it. One thing is for sure, I'll be Grumpy-hunting this trip for sure! We just need a pic of dad and his twin-brother. :rotfl:

Madenon, Oh that's wonderful that he is going along. You all are going to have a great time. AKL how nice of a surprise is that. We have never stayed there but friends of ours have and they loved it. Your father seems like a real character, excuse the pun. So glad he changed his mind.
