My parents don't know, and they don't need to know. In 16 days I will be riding in my friend from Celebration's car to her house.
I turned 21 in April, and am going to WDW in December. I planned on FINALLY being able to hit all the night clubs at Pleasure Island. when I went in September 2008, we went to PI to visit the Adventurer's Club. We had a total blast! I couldn't wait to do it again!
So when I heard the news that Pleasure Island would be closing it's door, and the final Hoopla would be on September 27th, I knew I had to go. I had to experience this. I will never get another chance to see the other clubs, or be able to KUNGALOOSH! I booked a room at Pop Century with an AP discount, and scouted out for airfares.
My bills started getting a little nuts for my December trip, and I started to get doubtful. I told my troubles to a friend who moved to Florida via AIM. She told me if it helped, I could stay at her place for the weekend and she'd come with me, for she's lived in Celebration for months and never went to PI.
I see her as an angel in disguise. This trip is total fate! I couldn't sleep that night knowing in 3 1/2 weeks I'd be in Walt Disney World, celebrating and mourning the loss of an awesome piece of Disney History. And I'd get to see my friend for the first time in a year! I woke up the next morning and called CRO to cancel my pop ressie, and make a reservation for Afternoon Tea. The CM seemed a little confused that I cancelled a room on the 27th, and then tried to make an ADR for the same day.
So I booked my flight with Spirit Airlines, when they one of their crazy insane-o fare sales. The money I got refunded for my room paid for more than half of the ticket, so I wasn't too worried about the cost. I have an old park hopper with a non expirational plus on it, to use as admission to PI. I'll be leaving work early on friday to catch my 6:30 flight out of Atlantic City airport.
If I rushrushrush, I want to try and get a glimpse of friday night's fireworks from MSSHP. I don't know how practical this is, since my flight lands at 8:40 and the fireworks are at 9:30, but we can dream!
So I'll keep everyone updated on my progress, and if my parents, who have been deeply discouraging me from "wasting my time with this trip" find out!
