Now, before I start, I've never done this !!!!

I've always paid for tickets for both Xmas and Halloween events when we've gone.

However, a friend of mine went with they family last year and managed to stay in the park for free.

They went to the park as normal during the day, and then just stayed in and waited till the Xmas event started. No wristbands and they were allowed on all the rides.

I always thought they closed the park for a while and checked no-one was left in? And I also thought that they checked for people with no wristband anc threw them out (let alone let them on rides !!!) ?

Not going to do this but I'd be miffed if I had to pay and people were getting in for zip !!

Never done Xmas event but done 4 MNSSHP, 2 Pirates & Princess and 2 Halloween events at Disneyland CA.
Over in Cali they shut the park get everyone out then reopen at a set time.
In WDW they don't, you can go in anytime after 4pm with your Event ticket. As soon as you go thru the door they give you a wristband. From 7pm they then check your wrist as you enter each land and every ride all night. They were very strict last month, all evening having to show our wrists.

I can't imagine being able to enjoy the event having sneaked in, you'd always be worried you're going to get busted and kicked out the park in front of everyone, but I suppose some would try it. I would also be really annoyed having paid for 5 adult tickets.

we got bands for both the xmas and halloween parties when we went

We had bands for any event we have attended, TBH the CM's give my DH a headache as they shout WRISTBANDS WRISTBANDS at everyone.

Hey if you can get away with staying even just for the parade, well done. To be on the safe side I would recommend tickets :thumbsup2

It looks like they might be tightening up on this. Last year at MVMCP, wristbands weren't checked very much at all and at the EMH's we noticed quite a few people going on rides who clearly had no wristbands. It wasn't hard to notice someone with just a t-shirt on without a wristband but the CM's didn't seem to bother saying anything.

Wristbands were checked when we were there, people without wristbands were being ushered to the exit. There was alot of CM about checking people who were just walking about and not just on the rides.

The MVMCP we went to they herded everyone with wristbands around the MK hub in front of the castle and there were CMs walking round checking wristbands on everyone (as it was a bit chilly people had coats and sweatshirts on so it was not easy to see the bands). But on rides I can't remember having my wristband checked.

I would not feel comfortable staying in the parks without a party ticket - just wouldn't feel right and would not be fair on the honest people who paid for tickets :)

We went on the 13th October to MNSSHP and weren't asked at any time to show our wristbands.

At the xmas one last year NOBODY checked out bands, and it was so busy i was a bit ticked off and thought it was a waste of money, we left after 2 hours.

People that were not asked did you have short sleeves and writbands visible?

Many were not being asked but you could clearly see their wristbands.
We had fleeces on so they were covered up.

well we had a spiderman, batman, robin, a skeleton and the hulk all with long sleeves :rotfl:

We went to the MNSSHP on both the 2nd October and the 9th October and we were asked to show wristbands on every single ride AND our event tickets on most of them too.

All four of us were dressed as Hippies, complete with long wigs and when asked to show wristbands I quipped "you don't seriously think we dress like this normally" to which they laughed and said "you'd be surprised"!!!

I was really happy that they were checking the tickets as well as the bands and I didn't find it at all annoying or an inconvenience.

We went on October 26th and were asked quite a few times to show our wristbands... :thumbsup2

No, ours was def covered as it was blooming cold!!
The rides were mobbed and I could see that hardly anybody had wrist bands, I really couldnt believe it.

When we went on 5th September they where strict about it and as soon as it got to seven was blocking people without bands from getting in to different lands and also checking at all the rides certainly the main ones anyway.

Seems Disney aren't very consistent with the checking of wrist bands.

We did MP&PP in April this year and we were asked on most of the rides to show our wristbands. Maybe it's different CM's and their opinions on it? :confused3
