Sneaking around at dawn

I would expect that someone wanting to enter OKW by car would need a darn good reason in the middle of the night. The security guard is not just going to allow non-guests in for a looky-loo at 4:00 in the morning. You would need to be a resort guest to get past security at that time of the day. I would also expect security to stop anyone walking along the golf course paths in the middle of the night as there is no good reason for someone to be wandering the paths. Disney puts on a good front when it comes to security and making the guest feel protected, but what good is security if they are not able to stop scam artists from entering OKW in the middle of the night and stuffing menus under doors?

It's significantly harder to stop the menu scammers in the middle of the day since non-Resort guests have valid reasons to enter a resort and anyone can jump on a bus from Disney Springs. That being said, the subject of the thread wasn't "Sneaking around at mid-day". I find the fact that the scammers were roaming the resort in the middle of the night more distressing than why they were there.

Maybe these people come by a ride share? We returned to SSR using one about midnight and he just showed his credentials and said dropping off current guests. We did not need to provide the guard with our information.

Aren’t there cameras in the halls? That are being monitored? Really it’s not that hard to stop in the middle of the night. When they see someone stopping at each door... go take their info and kick them out. They’re on private property.

And yet there they are. Virtually every other night. Who'da thunk it, right?

Well, I don't know how often they troll OKW. But I would hope that the same security that demands to see my ID when I go through the staffed side of the gate (even sometimes with a MB) could work at keeping actual thieves out of the resort .

I figure the flyerers are being dropped off - either like a ride share or even on the nearby roads and they walk in. But it bothers me that there isn't better security - watching for people walking the halls and parking lots and dispatching able-bodied security to catch them.

When I worked at DLR. I got to tour the security facility and in particular the camera room. 2 CMs sat in there and watched the entire resort. They had high def even in the late 90s early 00s. They saw someone in the parking lot smoking weed in their car. And were able to recognize the person was smoking out of pipe. I watched the whole incident and got to see them kicked off property. It was pretty interesting to me. The security CM told me that was nothing compared to what they see daily.
