I am looking for new sneakers for my upcoming trip. I have bought 2 pairs so far, but after wearing them around the house I can't decide which are more comfy. Anybody have either of these:

Adidas TR 9 (TR = Trail Response)
Nike Xccelerator

TIA,
Nicole

I like New Balance. They are light weight and easy to wear all day. I get the higher end running shoe style. My dad likes the lower end ones as well.

Adidas is always a good shot thats all i ever buy. I run a lot and they are the most comfy for me.

i don't know if you would, but from my experience do not wear converse all-stars, they are horrible for walking miles around disney. they have no arch whatsoever.

I can walk forever in New Balance or Sketchers... I usually buy trail/running styles!!

...dh and I like Nike and I have a new pair of spalding infusion that are ao nice that Ill be alternating them with my Nikes...

wishing to see a lot of lime green on July ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

I am an Exercise Physiologist and usually recommend New Balance to my clients. In my experience they have proven to be the best all around cross trainer, and their walking shoes are great. Each person seems to have their own favorite brand though. Just my 2 cents worth :)

Thanks for all the New Balance suggestions....but everytime I try on a pair of NB's they are very uncomfortable just walking around in the store!! Not made for my feet I guess.

That's why I was sure to add that some of my clients stick to their favorite brand regardless of my recommendation...

In order to truly find out what sneakers are best, you really have to put them to the test. Personally, I put at least 50 miles on a pair before they even get considered to go into the suitcase. Try walking for an hour in them outside (at a decent pace will be about 3 miles). This will give you some indication as to whether the shoes will bug you or not. Plus, the walking will put you into primo Disney shape so you will last all day long in the parks!

One tip that I learned the hard way is not to do a 10 mile walk in the brand new shoes without breaking them in at all. My feet took all summer to recover from that one!

I have found that what works for other people don't work for me. I have flat feet so I have to find a sneaker that has the perfect arch structure. I also prefer a wide sneaker although my feet are not that wide. I like the breathing room. I usually go with Nike or Reebok. My DH has very wide feet (4 E) and the only brand that fits is New Balance. He really has no choice in sneakers if they have a 4E in stock, then that is what he gets.

I have usually gotten Easy Spirit walking shoes in a wide width. But, they aren't feeling as good anymore. Does anyone think you are better off sticking with a walking shoe or would a cross trainer be better? I've heard that running shoes aren't the right choice for so much walking since it's a different gait. Thoughts?

I would recommend walking shoes over a cross trainer UNLESS you are using them for other fitness activities. You are correct about running shoes- they are designed for optimal use when your center of gravity is slightly forward, which is what happens when you run (you lean forward over your feet when you run).

Wow, I thought I would leave my Lady Foot Locker years, all seven of them, behind me...but my obsession with athletic shoes will never stop! No matter what shoes you decide on (I am quite partial to Nike...narrower fit than Addidas or NB...always fits my foot...but EVERYONE is different!), you should try Spenco Insoles (the cross trainer style is best). They will add cushion and arch support to any shoe, have a one year guarentee, and I SWEAR by them. They replace the removable insole in your shoes. Just trim them to fit your shoes exactly, and poof, you have a super comfy shoe! You should try them for sure!

Just my two cents for happy WDW feet! Sore feet make for bad days!

Was good for me, but, now I think they changed the manufacturing of the Shoe.....I have 7.5 Wide which is D, and I cannot wear them without being in PAIN! So, I am on a search for new brand of shoes.:o

i wore nb once to wdw and my feet killed.. the next year, i bought sketchers, my feet never felt better! i was just thinking today that i should get a new pair for this october, but i think i will keep the ones i have, they are broken in and feel great!!

Here's hoping you can answer a quick question! It doesn't seem to matter what type of shoe/sneaker/sandal I wear, but when I do so much walking around WDW I get deep blisters on the heels of my feet. I guess I walk hard on my feet. Any suggestions?:wave2:

Spenco inserts :)

afterthought...be sure to take moleskin and little scissors with you. as soon as you feel a hot spot, cut some strips and encircle the blister :)

I buy New Balance WALKING SHOES !!! That is all you need they are more comfortable and you are using they for what they were made for. A running shoe is made for, YES THAT IS RIGHT, runing.:earseek: ::yes::
