Anyone ever use this? i just signed up this evening. Couldnt resist the deal in their add in MemoryMakers Magazine I received today. First 3 rolls developed free. First 15 digital 4x6 developed free....plus for my first upload to my album I got 10 more free.......

And if someone signs up thru an email I send them, I get ten free.....anyone need a Snapfish email to earn me 10 free pics? ;)

How is their service? Quality of prints?

I have been using my HP photoprinter for my digitals, but I am less that thrilled with the archival prospects....although the quality of the image is typically excellent.

Love EM! I have been using snap fish for at least 2 year and chances are more like 3 can't remember. I only had one roll that didnt turn out. not sure why. I have over 200 albums with them! The only complaint i have the turn around time has gotten slower. It use to be about 3 days and they were on line and the pics were in my hand in 5 no more than 7. Now it seems to take about 5 days to get them online and 7 delievered.
The quality is great. You have your choice of glossy or matted. I get matted. Colors are very nice.

Why matted? Just curious why you select this as your preference. Also, there was some Royal Glossy option as well. Have you tried that?

There prices seem much cheaper than Kodak's Ofoto. It cost me $30 there to get doubles and disc of one roll.

Also, the paper they use for digitals, is it regular photo archival quality? I am having such a hard time switching over to digital!

Not sure why I get matted. I don't like glossy....shows finger prints too much! Plus I think the mat finish gives the pictures a more expensive look guess it is all preference!
I developed a few digital pics from my mom's camera and it seems to be the same paper as my other pictures but I can't really say for sure.

I love them too! I have used them for over 2 years, first for film and as of a few months ago, for digital :) It makes it so easy to share your pics. Instead of scanning and emailing the pic to friends (and taking up all the room in their inbox) you can email them the link to a single picture or a whole album - whatever you want to share :)

I also was not happy with my home printed digital prints and it is easy to upload them to Snapfish, then order 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, even wallets. What fun! And you can order Christmas cards and all kinds of other fun things personalized with your pics, like mousepads, mugs, etc.

I found no difference in the quality of the prints made from film and those made from digital uploads. I think the paper and everything is the same.

I am another person who doesn't like glossy finish. I don't like the glare you get on glossy prints, and yep, they do show fingerprints pretty badly, too! But I know some people only like glossy finish. So it's whatever you prefer. I've obvioulsy never tried the high gloss, but if you like glossy, order your favorite pic in that and see if it's worth the extra charge.

I give their quality and service two thumbs up :)

Another vote for Snapfish. I've been using them for almost a year. I like that they offer the digital size prints (approximately 4X5 1/2), so you're digital photos don't get "cropped" when printed.

Took me awhile to go "digital" but Snapfish made it much easier. I also use their sevice and "burn" my photos to CD. I'm planning on getting some Christmas gifts from their site as well.

I too am another scrapper struggling with the changeover to digital. As a pooh of little patience, I love being able to see my photo immediately, but despite a "photo printer", good quality photo paper, and supposedly-good software, I just can't get photos to print they way they look on the screen. And, at least when they're out in a frame (as opposed to in a scrapbook), they fade MUCH faster than regular 35mm prints.

So, if I upload prints to snapfish, should the quality be better? Will the prints last longer?

I would love to hear from the wiser!

Have used Snapfish off 'n on for a few years, mostly for big trips...great sharing photos with everyone who went. Has also been fun looking at WDW pics from last year and I'm getting excited for this trip.

I also prefer the matte finish, I think the pics look much nicer.

This time I took advantage of pre-purchasing 15 rolls of developing. At that cost plus shipping and a second set, it'll be less than $6 per roll. Plus I'll have them on-line to share.

You're not kidding turn-around time has slowed! I mailed film continuously during our week long stay at WDW (10/4-11) and only the first batch has been received! I know we had the Columbus Day holiday in there, but boy am I growing impatient!! Also wish I had inquired about how often mail is picked up at ASMu.
Used to be I'd mail film from home on Monday and they'd be on-line Friday at the latest.

I think this may be the real problem - I also mailed film and postcards from WDW. My film has not been received, nor have any of the postcards showed up. When I asked directions to the mailbox the CM actually said "I hope you don't need it to be picked up anytime soon." Well, I really just wanted the postcards to have the WDW postmark (I mailed them from MK and the film from the All stars) and with the film, I just wanted to avoid taking it to the airport, so I wasn't in a HUGE rush, but I did not expect it to take a week! I'm wondering now if it maybe wasn't even picked up there until the 14th, and thus won't show up at snapfish until today or Monday. Sigh.

Good things come to those who wait, right?

I'm anxious to put links to the pics in my trip report, plus I'm going on a scrapbook retreat next weekend and I really wanted to work on my Disney album! Maybe they will show up today...

I am loving snapfish!!!

One question, how do I post a link to my album so you guys can view them if you want?

Pooh bear...I haven't figured that one out yet! I have tried and tried! I know you can't link a picture.....If you find out let us know!

My postcards were received, BUT they were mailed with the first film batch. Sigh, I'm not sure I can wait much longer!!
I too have the bug to get started (or at least begin planning) a scrapbook.

I have had success linking to Snapfish, either an album or one specific picture, by "sharing the picture/album" with myself (emailing the link to my own addy) then cutting and pasting the actual link.

Like this:

However, I haven't been able to link a pic from snapfish to put in my DIS signature. Bummer.

I just got my first order from them and I thinks the pictures were HORRIBLE! I will not use them again.

I've been using Shutterfly.com for over a year now. I have only used them for digital prints. The quality is awesome. You can preview your prints before you order them to be sure they are cropped the way you want them. They run specials regularly. My favorite is the free 5x7's or 8x10's or even 11x14's. I use the prepaid print plan, which recently was reduced to .25 per print.

Also -- with Shutterfly, your high resolution images stay online for as long as you want. With Snapfish, they only keep the high-res for 90 days (low-res images stay indefinitely).

Turn around with uploaded digital images is fast. Usually one day after I place an order, my order is complete and on it's way. I usually receive the order about 3 days after that.

If I'm in a big hurry, I go to Wal-mart. They have a system where I can bring my own photo card or CD and order the prints I want -- and they are ready in an hour. This service is .29 per print, plus tax. (If you are lucky and have an employee discount card, they are about .26, plus tax.)

Wow ! why were the pictures bad? I have almost 200 rolls with them and haven't had a problem! Do you think it was the developing? that the neg are ok? I hate to hear that I love snapfish and would hate to have to change companies!

laurie31 Thanks for telling us how do that. I will have to try! Cute picture!

All of my film finally showed up at Snapfish (I do believe it was a mail pick-up problem). Says they all shipped between 10/20-23 and I haven't received them yet! I wouldn't be worried about it, but I already received an order (non-Disney) that shipped on 10/24. Snapfish said to wait 20 days after the ship date to report a problem and they would refund the $'s. HELLLOOO, this creates a major problem with those Christmas gift albums I was planning!!!

I've tried almost all the online printing companies. They all offer so many free in the beginning so I gave them all a try. Including snapfish, which was fine for me. Shutterfly is too expensive in my opinion, but I usually liked their prints....I think others have better all around quality for the price though.

Right now I'm using Club Photo
Their 4x6 prints (in glossy or matte) are only 19 cents! no matter how many you purchase.
:bounce:That is a great price compared to others. It lasts until November 12.

I used them before when their prints were on for 19 cents and I was never dissappointed with the quality or service.
