Help reassurance needed (if possible) - what is the likelihood of seeing snakes in the water parks? What about in the Disney resort hotels? I am terrified of them and I have been put off villa holidays having found one swimming in the pool in October 2003.

've seen one snake in a waterpark in 25+ visits. I've seen 3 snakes around the resorts and one in MK. It's a chance you just can't avoid, it's not a big chance, but where ever you are in Florida there is a chance you'll come across one. So thats' 12 years, 2 or 3 trips a year (say 30 trips) I've seen 5 snakes in 2built up" areas. I'd say your chance is about 1 in 8 or 1 in 10. As you've already seen one you should be ahead of the game :D

We have been 3 times and only seen one snake - that was walking back to the bus in Epcot.

I've actually seen more snakes in the UK then in Florida (3 grass snakes and 1 adder).

Snakes tend to be quite shy and unless provoked will keep out of site.

Hi

In probably 20 visits to the waterparks, I have seen a snake twice. On both occassions the snake was totally oblivous to the people around it and was only interested in getting from one set of bushes to another.

the first time I saw one, I was quite suprised, but a CM said that they would not hurt and were good as they kept down the rate population!!!!!

Thanks guys. Guess I'll just have to be very, very brave and hope that I don't see any (LOL). Cant let my phobia ruin our trip. ;)
