Snake in my jeep

I was driving my jeep today around 5:00 p.m. down hwy 90 in Ocean Springs MS and something cought my eye, I look over and LOW and BEHOLD there he was a grass snake on my door. Just slithered up and was soaking up the A/C like me. I'm so glad I'm not afraid of snakes, if it had been my wife she would have wrecked. He rode like that for about 5 miles.

Yep, I would of crashed into something. I have a terrible fear of those things.

I was wondering about that because I would have been no where near enough to take a picture.

Is this a common thing down south? If so, its off my list of places to move to. I know you get snakes in your houses which is bad enough. I don't need them in my car while I'm driving.



As much as I love the outdoors, I DON'T do snakes.

No it not common, I'm 44 been driving since I was 12 and this was a first for me. Never had one in my house knock on wood... He must have gotten in there when my windows were down.

OMG I am so with your wife, I live in the wooded Pocono's and can't even look at the picture. Big brave me freaks at snakes, no matter how what the size!

I just want to cry thinking it could happen to me.

Jpmandan's wife here... It was a grass snake. Really quite harmless when it's not riding in your vehicle. Dan took it to WalMart with him then brought it home and let it go. Of course, it went directly under my car!

Ok- I'm terrified of snakes and I would be in a hospital or morgue someplace if I were driving.... but that picture makes me laugh. The snake looks like he's going for a ride- kind of like a dog. "My Daddy is taking me for a ride in the jeep- where are we going Daddy? Are we there yet?"

Same here! For as scared as I am of snakes, that picture was actually cute.
