I thought there was a thread recently about this, but can't find it. DH and I are arriving next Saturday (2/25), staying at PP. Wondering what kind of snacks I could pack in my suitcase to take with us into the parks? Don't really want to take the time to grocery shop when we get there, just want a few easy things to have in a backpack during the day.

trail mix/ nuts, granola bars...... what else?

thanks!:worship:

In addition to your ideas....protein bars, dried fruit (mango is my favorite), peanut butter filled pretzel, homemade lower sugar oatmeal cookies made with whole wheat flour. I like to bring things that are filling, and keep you going longer!

Jerky. -We break up the jerky and throw it in a bag of mixed nuts.
Last time I packed tangerines in a small box. Put some paper towels in to cushion them. They made it just fine.
Mini candy bars/starbursts. (don't particularly care for them, but DH does.)

Since we travel with kids, I always take granola bars, fruit snacks and goldfish crackers. Sometimes I'll grab a banana or two from the hotel's continental breakfast and throw that in our day bag, too. For me, I take a baggie of almonds.

Well... when we go to WDW we take: nuts in individual packs, jelly beans, starburst, string cheese individually packaged, and wheat thins. Everything else we buy in Park --- that's half the fun! :wizard:

Peanut-butter filled pretzels! Why didn't I ever think of bringing those! They're going to be on my packing list for out next trip! :thumbsup2 We usually make our own trail mix and let everybody put together their bags a couple of days before we leave. That way, we all have snacks and no stuff in our bags that we won't eat (DH doesn't like raisins, DDs don't like almonds). In addition to nuts and dried fruit, we usually put Golden Grahams or Honey Nut Cheerios in our bags (those are especially popular with my DDs).

I also normally pack a jar of peanut butter and then nab a couple pieces of bread and jelly from the hotel's breakfast and make the girls PB&J for their morning snack (DD5 isn't a breakfast person). I bring those plastic sandwich containers for them for this purpose.

I bring the usual granola, homemade trail mix (including lots of dried fruit), jerky for DBF and peanut butter pretzels. Do either you or DH get dizzy on any of the rides? I get really dizzy so I bring rice crackers, salty crackers or actual saltines (which can be very messy and get crumbs everywhere so I don't actually recommend them unless you really need them). I would spend half of my park days on a bench with my head between my legs if weren't for them. Or just spend it on a bench waiting for my party to return from all the rides I'd have to miss.

I like to bring in fresh stuff, too, like baby carrots and apples. I usually slice the apples and soak them in lemon juice so they don't turn brown, but you probably don't want to bring lemon juice on an airplane. I do sometimes bring in tangerines. They do pretty well in my backpack just in baggies, but you may want to keep them in a little box or container.

Goodness! It looks I bring half the kitchen with me!:rotfl: The perils of day trips where you can't go back to the hotel midday.

Things high in fiber! All the eating out in the parks tends to weigh too heavily on hamburgers and fries. Kids are always disappointed in healthy snacks but stay away from the empty carbs when you don't have to.

I'm planning to bring some Uncrustables. That would be good to hold the kiddos over before a meal, or if they don't see something they want to eat. My DD, who is 2, is insanely picky, but she likes pb&j!

I had some go-gurt delivered to PPH. Stored them in the freezer, and packed them in the bag to go to the parks. They stayed cold and kept our fruit cold, too.

We bring pretzels, gold fish, cherrios , fruit snacks, granola or cereal bars, roaring waters juice bags, muffins and we pick up apples that I cut in the hotel, for some reason they don't get too brown there for us, bananas, cuties, baby carrots, string cheese, gogurts. Not all at once of course, haha, we spread them out over our days there. We go alittle nuts on the snack dept. We don't have any trader joes here so we have fun in there stocking up. DH likes to buy yummy cheese and salami or similar meats, humus, crackers and eat them in the room. We've eaten this for dinner several times :)

I also bring what I can from home, ziplocks, dish soap, paper plates, napkins, red cups, a little paring knive for cuting the apples and such. It all takes up room going over, but I don't have to worry about buying it all when we don't need that much and than we have more room to bring lots of Disney stuff home :)

Have fun!!!
