Do you know if it is okay to bring snacks that are sealed such as poptarts in your checked luggage? I'm trying to save my dining points and bring snacks in case I want to grab something quick for breakfast.

Yes, that should be fine. I've brought granola bars, fruit snacks, ramen noodle packs, and oatmeal packs in the past.

Yes - no problem. We pack lots of snack.
1. Good to have food in room
2. Leaves room in bags for purchases on the way home.

you can bring it on your carry-on to, just no liquids/gels outside of the quart size ziplock. i've brought 10lbs of MNSSHP candy before! Although i tend to forget to bring something and am starving by the time i'm on the ME. This time i'm bringing food on my carry-on.

you can pretty much bring whatever you want as long as you are traveling in the US. Some countries won't let you bring some types of outside food in. We bring soft sided coolers with fully preped meals frozen when traveling to remote areas! we brought 3 coolers of food to Aruba in June because food is so expensive there! We just had to leave anything we didn't finish!

I had packages of Bear Paw cookies in our carry on and small boxes of cereal in our checked luggage a couple of weeks ago. No problem at the US border.

For religious dietary reasons I bring a lot of food in the checked bag. I've brought milk, bread, peanut butter, salami, and of course all kinds of snacks--cookies, individual small cakes, etc. Never a problem.

Yes, you can bring them but be careful because they way they manhandle the luggage its not guaranteed that they wont be smooshed when you get to disney:eek:

Put them in a tupperware or try to pack them in with clothes to minimize the damage

YUP..last time we went we had a suitcase full of food. We had peanut butter, Chips and salsa (wrapped the salsa in bubble wrap, and in a bag) granolas, small boxes of cereal, oatmeal and a few other things.
and when we came home, we had an extra suitcase to bring all our goodies home (family of 4, we had 3 suitcases including the one with the food)

No TSA issues on food, but don't forget about the weight of your bags. If you are trying to save a few bucks and your bags go over the 50LB weight for most carriers then you will be paying them to carry that food for you.

TT

I tried that for our first WDW trip. All our food was smashed and /or broken.
With traveling with more kids I may try it again or just try the grocery delivery so I can have my Dr Pepper while there. ;)

My pop-tarts were the only food that got smashed. I'll use pp tip and put mine in tupperware before packing again. Last trip also took cereal, granola bars, cookies etc... in checked bag in addition to a soft cooler with some lunch meat and fruit in a checked bag. Use solid ice packs the soft-sided gel ones may burst in checked bags.

Last trip (solo) I brought a bag of bagels. Each morning I would go to the food court, pop my bagel in the toaster, go buy a small thing of cream cheese and grab my soda. Perfect breakfast to eat in line while waiting for the bus.

I posted this on packing tips. Every year I have gone I've taken this ugly gym looking bag with me to disney. In it I pack a 12 pack of water, snacks, bagels, one time I froze cream cheese. and another year I brought 2 bottles of wine. I did a really good job packing with bubble wrap and all sorts of other stuff. I've never had a problem however since the bag is really ugly airport security has always checked it. Everything was sealed so it all works out plus disney brings it right to my room so I only have to carry it from my car to the airline check in once. :thumbsup2

We always bring food and snacks....I would rather have extra money for other goodies. We are DVC members so we do most cooking for meals in our condo. I usually pack one of those hot/cold bags that look like tinfoil that you purchase at the grocery store and fill it with frozen foods (meats etc).

I have carried shelf stable food in checked bags and in carry-on. I have even taken things that required refrigeration! (Not to Disney -- to a family get together). I used freezer gel packs in a zip-lock bag placed in another ziplog bag with the food in question (a cream cheese filling), placed in the middle of the suitcase to insulate it. It all came through fine, with no problems from the airline.
