DH and I are addicted to the popcorn at Disney (I blame the salt, so yummy). He keeps joking that there should be a "frequent buyers unlimited refill popcorn card" for the duration of our stay. popcorn::

I'm thinking of getting him a Disney gift card for Christmas for him to use at the stands to get popcorn, but before doing it, wanted to make sure it CAN be used for things like snack items.

Thanks for your help!

I belive that they can be used for snacks, and most carts (but probably not all) should be equipped to take them! I know there have been times we've wanted to use snack credits but the machines were down, or we did encounter a very few carts that only took cash, but not many! I SO love me some Disney popcorn, too! Don't know what it is, but we usually get some every day we're there!

Great thanks so much - I hoped most would be able to take the card, I'm sure some aren't equipped, but that's fine he can pay cash there, or find a different location. I know what you mean, their popcorn is like crack-corn. I told DH about how good it was when we were there in January 2009, now he can't wait to eat it every day, all day. And I know he'd use all our snack credits on it if I let him. Thanks!

I put all of our food budget money on a gift card bought from the gift shop at whatever resort we're staying at on the first night (I usually go a little under, like if I have $800 for food for the two of us I'll put $600 on the card so I'm not stuck with the money on the card). That's what I use for meals, snacks, everything. I found maybe two places that didn't have the ability to accept gift cards (I can't remember what they were though). I love their popcorn! :goodvibes

The best part about using the gift card (other than not having to keep track of how much I'm charging or carrying around a bunch of cash) is that it tells you your balance on the receipt after every time you use it.

Seems like the only place we ran into that didnt accept a gift card was at Epcot-Canada gift stand...other than that seems like everywhere else did.
