I am headed to WDW in less than 2 weeks!!! :cool1: I am going with my DH who has a conference. We will be there for 5 days. I have my plans down:
Day 1: Arrive around noon, then head to DTD for HoB dinner and Cirque
Day 2: Lunch at WCC, then maybe some resort hopping, then DTD that night
Day 3 (Valentine's Day): DH's conference begins, so I will be going into the parks on my own--1/2 day at DHS + 1/2 day at Epcot, then meet DH for dinner at Shula's
Day 4: On my own again--1/2 day at AK + 1/2 day at MK, then meet DH for dinner at Kona Cafe
Day 5: Prepare for flight home

I know where I will be eating each day, except my Epcot day. Since I will have a limited time to tour and will be by myself, I want to eat CS for lunch. We NEVER eat CS here. We love Teppan Edo and Le Cellier too much. So I need help with CS. At first, I thought I would try out Sunshine Seasons. I've heard really good things about it. But since I'm not going to do Soarin' this time, I won't need to be in The Land building. I want to spend most of my time at World Showcase (will be arriving via boat through International Gateway). I thought it would be neat to go from country to country to snack, but I don't want to spend a lot of money. Can anyone give me suggestions on good snacks and how to get enough snacks to fill me up without spending a fortune?

This is an easy one...

Fish & Chips in UK

Anything from the Patisserie in France

Crepes from the cart/stand in France

Kaki Gori in Japan

Nachos in Mexico

I could go on and on!!!!:thumbsup2

The caramel corn (and pretty much anything else) at the Karamelle-Kuche at Germany.

What you said plus I like the counter service in Morocco also. We love Norway & France for dessert. Have fun!

Although ALL of the mentioned are awesome, some of the itmes mentioned are large and are really not "snack size". Desserts and sweets will be your smallest and more inexpensive items, but if you want some food, items that would be great to snack on would include the ham and cheese croissant served warm, or the cheese plate from Boulangerie Patisserie, like someone said, the Bratwurst from Germany, a soft pretzel, egg rolls from cs in China, empanadas from The Refreshment Port. Those are some of the smaller sized portion items.

For the sweets, everything already mentioned! The caramel corn from the caramel kitchen in Germany is my new favorite. You can take it back to your resort for later after a few bites to save room for all the other fun things!

I would just tour the cs at each country and see for yourself the portions and items that are ordered and go with what you're hungry for! What a fun way to tour Epcot!
Enjoy~

I'm obsessed with the cheese empanadas and the horchata at Mexico's counter service restaurant.

Scotch egg at UK pub. Guacamole in Mexico. Dessert at Karamel shop (everything I've tried there has been good enough to recommend)

Thanks for all the responses! Here's an idea for a plan:
Enter International Gateway.
Go to France and get the cheese plate. ($5.95)
Go to Morroco and get the marinated olives. ($2.99) (Anyone ever had these?)
Eat.
Continue around the World Showcase.
Order a pretzel when I get to Germany. ($4.29) (Are there a variety of these or only one kind?)
Order dessert from the caramel kitchen to go. (Cost: $?)
Go to China and get the potstickers. ($4.99) (LOVE potstickers!!!)
Stop and eat caramel dessert!

This should be enough to fill me up--hopefully!

I really wanted to try Yorkshire County Fish Shop, but I want only one piece of fish. Two is just too expensive for what I'm wanting to do here.

I eat Japanese all the time, so I decided to skip it to try some new things.

I sure wish they had counter service in Canada so I could get some of that Cheddar Cheese Soup!!!!

I'm not a big fan of Mexican, so the only thing I might want there is a churro, but I think I'll stick with the caramel kitchen for dessert.

Does this sound like a reasonable plan? Or would you recommend just eating a true meal at a CS? (It would probably be much cheaper!)

We did something very similar on our last trip. There were four of us and we split one snack at each World Showcase country. Even splitting food four ways, it was still WAY too much food, and we were ridiculously overfull at the end. Then again, we had just eaten lunch at LeCellier when we started around the WS, so we weren't actually hungry anyway.

We split:
- an order of chips in UK (delicious)
- a chocolate crepe in France (pretty good)
- baklava in Morocco (meh. pre-packaged)
- kaka gori in Japan (just ok)
- American Dream in US (surprisingly tasty and refreshing)
- pretzel in Germany (decent)
- caramel ginger ice cream in China (terrible - tasted like cardboard, threw it away)
- school bread in Norway (sweet, but tasty)
- churro in Mexico (also standard pre-packaged - I didn't like it, kids did)

Then we skipped dinner. Your choices are much more food than dessert/snack, but I think you'll find the portion sizes will be fairly large, and you may get full before you get around the showcase. I do have to recommend the chips at the UK, though - my whole family now holds all fries and chips to their standard and finds them lacking.

Thanks for the list. I didn't even think about ordering a side of chips from the UK. That's a great idea! It would definitely help if my family was with me to split the food. That's what we do when we go to Food and Wine, get different snacks and share. But this trip it will be just me, and you're probably right about being too full if I eat at EVERY counter-service. I will definitely have to skip some. I think if I start early (around 11:00 when the WS opens) and take my time, hopefully I'll be ready to eat by my 7:00 reservation at Shula's. My DH will be really mad if I get there for a special Valentine's dinner and don't eat!

DisneyStarWisher, it sounds like an awesome plan! It really should be enough food! It will probably end up costing more than if you order one cs meal, but way more fun and delicious!

We snacked around the world with my family the last time we were at Epcot and it was a lot of fun. I would skip the churro and go with the caramel kitchen for sure. We had the churros in the summer and thought they were good, but this past trip, not so much. But the caramel kitchen treats all looked so :cloud9:. We had the small bag of caramel popcorn. It was $3.15. Not sure of the other items' pricing. The popcorn was delicious.

Have fun and enjoy!

In a previous post, I mentioned I would LOVE some cheddar cheese soup from Le Cellier. Has anyone recently been able to walk in and ask for some to go? I was just wondering what my chances would be if I arrived there right when they opened. I'm just thinking it might be worth a try??? :confused3

We really liked the crepes from the France pavilion and the pretzels from the Germany pavilion.

We had the churros with our CS meal from Cantina and they were stale/burnt. I like churros, but they taste best when they are fresh/warm/soft.

Would love to hear if you are successful in getting the cheddar cheese soup to go. I really don't understand why they would not set this up as a walk up food like they do during the wine and food festival.

+1

and maybe set up something in the Africa Outpost as well? That corner is so bare.
