Ok, silly question, but we're leaving tomorrow (:cool1:) and between Disney Rewards Dollars and some other gift cards we've been given, I wasn't planning on really bringing much cash. But, DH wanted me to make sure that the kiosks (like the pretzel stands, drink stands, etc.) all take credit cards before we figure out what we need cash wise. (We'd rather put everything on our Disney card then pay it off when we get back...more dollars for our next trip!)

Yes, at the theme parks for the most part. But no at the water parks. There are multiple food venues at the water parks that only take cash.

The way Disney phrases this is "most ... outdoor food carts" have a machine that will accept room keys/etc - and most of the carts that accept room keys will accept a credit card. I believe almost all of them accept the room key with the exception of some of the carts that sell light-up toys. Regardless, it is always a good idea to bring some cash just in case ... especially if you need to get a table at La Cellier without an ADR :rolleyes1

I have needed cash for certain coffee carts around all of the parks (except MK). They had mostly coffee, but a few snacks. We always bring $200 in cash with us to be safe but use our KTTW card when we can. I know that we normally come home with $125+ of the original cash.

We never encountered a kiosk or other vendor that did not take our room key. That's not to say there aren't any but we didn't run into that problem. The only time we were caught needing cash was at WPE inn DTD. We weren't aware that there would be servers there and had paid for our food before we realized this. The one other occassion I can envision needing cash would be on the rare occassion when you might need/ptefer to get a cab back to your resort.

OK, we don't want an ADR to Le Cellier :rolleyes1, we don't drink coffee, and no kiddos...so unless DH decides he needs a light-up toy, I think we're set.

I'm going to tell him to get enough to cover Mousekeeping tips, and then a little bit for extras. (We're on DDP, too. So, I'm not sure how much extra we'll actually be needing.)

Thanks again, everyone!

The ONLY place I remember not being able to use my rewards card last trip was at the Funnel Cake stand in America in Epcot! Major credit cards and cash only. :thumbsup2

Some (maybe most) of the stands in DTD won't take KTTW cards.

We've brought cash on every trip "just in case" and have always come home with all of it.

We use our rewards card and when that's done we use our Disney Visa (might as well earn points for the next trip ;) )

Only once have I not been able to pay with a cc and that was an ice cream cart where the cc machine was not working, not one that only took cash. DH had gone back to the resort with his wallet, so I only had my rewards card and ticket. Since DD and I waited and weren't annoyed while two CMs looked at the machine, they just gave us two free Mickey bars. :wizard:
