Snack Credits for Breakfast?

To all my fellow Disers on a budget:

I need your help. I will be leaving for Disney on Friday.... .
I am so excited (I'm the only one since my kids have no idea they're even going).

I will be on the dinning plan and I would like to know if any of you have used your snack credits for breakfast? I will be purchasing the refillable mugs and staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort. What are some cost conscientious ways to maximize my dining plan and save a couple bucks?

Any advice would be great!

Thanks a mil!

I have not stayed at CBR so I'm not sure if all these items are available at that foodcourt, but at the POFQ food court, we could use snack credits for several breakfast items--bowl of cereal with milk, fruit salad, pastry or bagel and my favorite--yogurt/berry/granola parfait, which was very good and filling.

I thought my stimlus check would be here by now.....
My gang is not big on snacks, so any "snack item" that can be used for breakfast would help my budget out.

Thanks for the feedback.

We pack pop-tarts, granola bars & cereal in our suitcase and use snack credits for the juice and milk for breakfast to save our TS and CS credits for lunch and dinner. PP is correct in that there were some "snack" portions that you could use in the food court as well.

Another thing that we did at POFQ, they had "large" milks in the store that you could purchase for 1 snack credit. (They were about 22 oz size, but bigger than the 12 oz ones they sold in the cafeteria which were also 1 snack credit.)

We also brought empty water bottles, which we filled every night and stocked in the fridge, then loaded the stroller with half a dozen water bottles every day. (Why waste snack credits on water?)

I have a personal policy with snack credits...if it's less than $2, pay cash, if it's more than $2, use a snack credit. Not that there are lot of things under $2, but some (indivual pieces of fruit for instance).

We also packed items for breakfast, poptarts etc... We also had a rental car though if you have access to that it saves a lot of money just going to the store and picking up some items to have in the room even milk to keep in the frig. We have done that the past 2 years and bought fresh fruit to snack on. We are not big breakfast fans so a piece of fruit as we were heading to the park was fine until lunch. However last year we also saved a lot of our desserts from both lunch and dinner and had them for breakfast. I would always get a muffin or fruit from CS and save it for the next day, depending on where we were at the time and if it would hold up.

:thumbsup2

Everyday except for 2. Now we didn't stay at CBR but we did stay at a moderate POR. We got things like fruit bowl, muffins, bagels, danishes, yogart parfaits(yogart with nuts and fruit and you get to choose the nuts and fruit). The fruit bowl is very filling and so is the yogart parfait. It worked for us and we will do this again next year if they don't change the DDP again. We aren't big breakfast eaters, we like to eat and go to the parks. We also eat lunch early around 11:30 or 12:00 and then dinner around 7:30pm. We found this really worked with the regular DDP for us.

We just returned from the CBR a few weeks ago. The food court has all of the breakfast foods that the previous poster mentioned were at POR. It's easy to pick up a bagel or fruit cup for a light breakfast. Have a great time. We love the CBR!
