Smugmug

If you go to a particular picture and click on it so that you get a full page view, there is an option on the tool bar above the picture called "Owner Save". I tried it and it downloaded a high resolution picture. I'm not sure if there is an option to do multiple pictures at a time or if you have to do one at a time but that's a start. :)

Thanks! I tried it this way and it worked. I also tried it in Visitor View and clicked on the Save Photo button and it downloaded the hi res image. My DD should be able to get what she needs this way.:thumbsup2

Check your Gallery settings also, and see what you have set for "Largest Size" under Security & Privacy. If you want her to able to download the full-res original you should have "Original" selected.

That's the first thing I checked. I've been trying to see if there is another setting besides that one that would affect the downloading, but according the Smugmug help, I should be able to click on the Save Photo icon or click on the original size and right click to save. Neither one of those is working.

One thing I've just noticed though in playing around with it, is that even though I have Original chosen in the settings, when I choose to view the original size photo from the menu bar that pops up when you mouse over the large image, it comes up the same size as the Large image does. In fact, the Large, XLarge, X2Large, X3Large and Original all show up the same size. I remember doing this a while back and the original size would be much larger than my screen. I've checked the dgrin forum and can't find a similar problem.

Did you submit a post on Dgrin for help? The support there is usually very good at assisting with SmugMug problems

Not yet, I'm thinking of sending them an email.

I'm completely lost right now! I can download hi res images from my smugmug account onto my work computer, but still on my laptop, there are no images appearing larger than the Large size, even though it says it's an original. I haven't changed anything on my laptop -- I wouldn't know what to change to prevent the hi res photos from being downloaded, although I can download the hi res photos by clicking on the Owner Save button.

So right now it's looking like it's my laptop and not Smugmug.:confused3

Well I've tried downloading the hi res images in Internet Explorer and also Firefox. It works in both of those browsers. Normally I use Chrome and that's where I was having problems for some reason.

I also use Chrome on my work computer but I was able to download the hi res images onto that one. I don't know why it won't work on my laptop, but at least I know my Smugmug account isn't screwed up.
