Smuggling Beer into the MK

Honestly after chasing 2 kids for 12 hours I can see why people need/smuggle alcohol in

I dunno. i could definitely see 'the happiest place on earth' being 'the most stressful place on earth' when toddlers are involved. :smooth:

HA!

DH and I dont have kids- we took our 4yr old niece to disney this past december and had ressie for the Princess breakfast in norway.....and we were late becasue they were just opening the park and they would not let us in even though we had ressies! :guilty:
anyway- after running to norway and having to sit through yet another Princess meal-- i desperatley looked at our waiter when he asked what we would like to drink and said "how about a mimosa" (thinking he would say sorry! cant have one) he looked at me and said "dont worry-- i will take care of you!" :thumbsup2

ahhhhhhh- it just took the edge off! ;)

But- i know better... :sad2: no drinks in the MK!

But technically bringing in food is as well, although they let that slide.

This is a MYTH!!! It is not against the rules to bring food into the WDW parks -- you just can't have glass containers. I believe it IS against the rules to bring food into the the Universal parks though.

All the other parks serve alcohol -- you can get a drink to go at the Tune-In loung at MGM, at the little stand in Harambe near the Safari, and almost everywhere at Epcot.

I don't understand why people think you can't bring food into the parks? Every CM we ever asked told us we could. I can't imagine waiting on lines and not having a sandwich or something to pacify little kids.

Well I emailed Guest relations and this is the response...

Dear Vanessa,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

We would also like to mention that as an exception to our standard policy, guests who have specific
food allergies are welcome to bring their own small snack items with them into the theme parks.
However, picnic baskets, ice chests, and coolers are not permitted.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if applicable on all
correspondence.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Peggy Bishop

so according to this, they are not welcoming food into the parks and security is overlooking the cooler issue unless you have glass bottles.

Where's the Tune-In Lounge?? :confused3

Actually, at Disneyland it is still official policy not to allow outside food in to the park, but they do not enforce it. In fact, on the park map it states" A picnic area is located west of the disneyland park entrance for your convenience. We request that no food or beveredge be brought into either theme park"(dca).

Maybe we should ask why Disney makes all of these rules, only to not bother enforcing them. Outside food if you are special needs, smoke only here or here, no profane clothing. They enforce none of these, then we wonder why people pool hop, fill whatever mug they have on hand at the food court, and act like pigs!! It is like your dad telling you to behave or he will pull the car over, but he never does. People will always push to see what they can get away with, and if there is no consequence, continue to push. I for one wish Disney would either enforce their own rules or take them off of the books! pirate:

I think WDW imagines that most people would not bring food into the parks anyway....it's not a state park or campground with no food facilities. But I also think they don't enforce as they don't want to piss people off (for lack of a better word)...hopefully it will never be an issue that most tables at CS places will be taken by outside food and the customer has no where to sit because of this.

feeding the birds is another one...why people have no common sense regarding that is beyond me!

On my last trip this past summer I saw six packs of beer on the security table almost daily, even at the parks where they sell beer. You aren't allowed to bring it in even to those parks because having to purchase it will at least put a little restriction on how much you can drink.

I got so bombed at epcot once that they had to roll me out.....Binge Drinking is encouraged there ....there is no restriction

Not so sure I believe that. There is no Disney Village any longer. This was the original name for the Marketplace area. And, as for the Holiday Inn identification, there is no Holiday Inn on WDW property.

Alot of DIS were able to cash in on Holiday Inn's typo error. The motel is actually across the street from DTD, between DTD and Cross Roads.

As for the beer, it's sad when a person can't make it through a day at an amuzement park without it.

As for the food, you can bring your own. We bring our own milk and food for our toddler in a collapsable insulated bag. Never had a problem. However, just FYI, secruity must now open all tupperware containers and it really will slow down the line.

Actually the current FAQ brochure you get when you checkin says you can bring snack food into the theme parks. There isn't any mention of limiting that courtesy to guests with special food needs.

I think some states have laws against outside alcholic beverages in public places and/or bars and/or restaurants.

At Epcot you can walk around with 15 drinks in your hand if you can carry them, but at your resort you can only buy 1 bottle of beer at a time. I was in the food court about 5 minutes before closing and this guy bought 1 ran out the door and inhaled it  and then came in and bought another. The funniest part was the he asked the guy he was paying if he had time to do it again?!?!?!?!? The cm said "go for it, I just can't let you walk out of here with 2 bottles." We're not big drinkers, but according to this policy, my husband can't even go down and buy us each a drink. Oh well, is there anyplace that would be more miserable to have a hangover? :guilty:
