I changed my reservation today to HRH and got a better rate using the SMSM rate so I changed from the APH rate saving some $. Wasn't aware that the SMSM rate is not a qualifying rate for Loews You First. I think they should have told me that at time of booking when I gave them my #. At least I caught it when they sent me the email.

Now off to change it to the APH rate. Just wanted to bring the subject up for those like me that didn't know. :)

It hasn't been a qualifying rate since they changed over to youfirst. The AP rate is for some strange reason.

I didn't know, I never booked it before since the APH rate has always been cheaper. Didn't APH rate used to not be a qualifying rate? So weird.

Wondering if anyone keeps their status w/o actually qualifying each year?

I know it's not a qualifying rate, but I just checked my account and I got credit for my last stay with SMSM. We stayed 9 days and they gave me 2 credits.:confused3

I'm not complaining either.:thumbsup2

JessicaR, i mentioned how i changed my smsm rate to all ap rate in another thread where we exchanged posts.

i guess no one reads my crap...........

i had a few nights with the ap rate and the other 8 nights with smsm.

when i found out i would get only 1 credit for my stay in october, i switched to all nights with the ap. now i will get the 2 credits.

it came out cheaper with the rates being aph and not the smsm.

i had booked the smsm rate last december 2011 as it was the only rate out there for october 2012. i wanted to lock in my dates in advance.

i added days in mid april this year with the ap.

the call centers gave me info that the smsm rate would be counted this year so i didn't bother to switch my entire stay at that time in mid april when i added days.
(received that info from 2 different calls, 2 different TM's.)

after loews told me that they are not allowing the smsm this year, i had to make my change.
last year, loews did give me credit for the promo rate.
i never had an issue with the credits until this year.

i checked the website and see the ap rate is still available.
switch it soon so you are all set up for your stay.

with all the hard planning and work you have done, i'm sure you want to get this taken care of right away.

One thing is for sure - they aren't consistent and haven't been since day 1. HRH isn't a qualifying hotel and my stays have been credited. Also, not complaining. :)

I read all your crap! I just missed that crap. :rotfl2: Thanks, already switched! I'm starting to think we all get credits for our stays...period. :goodvibes

What's weird is that our account shows our first stay as a non-qualifying stay, but then after our FIRST qualifying stay, we showed up as Blue, or whatever the level is that gets you upgrades. Shouldn't have been after the *first* stay, right? So it seems like the non-qualifying stay counted, even though it said it wouldn't.

Confusing.

Definitely inconsistent. We stayed 7 nights in May with a SMSM rate and got 2 credits for it.

My daughter stayed for 5 days at the SMSM Sept. 2010 and got no credits.
