Anyone stayed here? Seems to have above average reviews on TA, and I was just able to lock in a 2 bedroom condo for $69/night 10 nights in Oct through Expedia 48 hr sale. Always a little worried when something seems too good to be true : )

thanks! :yay:

This is an older resort that seems to be well maintained & operated. Just off 192. Not many on site features except pools but plenty to do/see/places to eat/shop all around it. For a good price it should be fine. Not glitzy just utilitarian.

I have stayed there, and liked it very much. It was kind of a "Polynesian-ish" place to stay, though of course, the Disney "magic" is not there.

I think that since I've last stayed there, it has had a refurb completed. The pictures on Tripadvisor look nice. The washer/dryer is shared between two units, so be aware of that.

We loved it. The condo was huge! It was clean, looked newly remodeled, and had a screened in porch which I loved. I liked the feel of the smaller resort. I would go back there again for sure!

I am booked here for our stay starting next weekend.

We want QUIET! I have got to have my sleep.....is there a unit you would recommend that is quiet? I plan to ask for the top floor, end unit, furthest away from the pool and the apartments next door. I have no idea what building to ask for though.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

We have stayed here twice with a 3rd stay coming in December, we really like this place. We would of course rather stay on WDW property but will only stay at the values as we can't justify paying the rates WDW charges for modorates and deluxe. But for less (a lot less) money than we would pay for a value we can stay at the Polynesian Isles Resort and get: more room (2 bedrooms, 2 bath, living room, dining area, a full kitchen) huge bathrooms, screened patio, free washer/dryer (yes you share with the unit next door, but this has never been an issue when we wanted to use it), 24 hour a day manned security at the gate (same as WDW resorts, but all the other off property places we have stayed either had no gate security at all or you used your key card or a code for entry). The resort is lushly landscaped and very quiet. When you check in they send you to another desk where they try to schedule you for a time-share sales pitch, but they are less high pressure than other places (just takes a couple "no's" LOL).
The location is great, (depending on traffic of course) 15 minutes to just about anywhere on WDW, 15-20 minutes to Seaworld, slightly more to Universal Studios. There is a Walmart just a few minutes away.
All in all, this is a great place to stay.

So good to read positive reviews.....

I still need a suggestion for what room to ask for if anyone has one! Just need QUIET!

I wouldn't worry about getting a specific unit, the whole resort seems quiet. We have always had a ground floor unit and never heard the people on either side or above us.

That is good to hear. A few reports of noise were on TripAdvisor. It could be that they were there during heavy tourist times.

We had one VERY bad experience at Westgate where we misses a lot of sleep until we complained and complained and they finally moved us.

We were exhausted and it ruined Disney for a few days as we just couldn't enjoy it while walking around like zombies.

We are here!

We are on day 2, so I can't really write a full review, but so far so good. It is a nice, quiet, out of the way resort. We are on the 3rd floor and the ceiling is vaulted, which it isn't on the lower floors, so that is a nice feature.

Glad it's so far so good for you all:) We'll be there in December and hoping to get a room on the third floor. Seems that's the place to stay.

Awesome! I hope you have a great time! :)

Still enjoying it. My 12 year old has a raging 103 fever, so he and DH stayed "home" today. :headache: I can't imagine staying in a one room hotel room with one sick and getting up in the night, etc....

It is so nice to have 2 bedrooms and have the sick one go to his room and rest while we are in the other areas of the condo.

It is nice and quiet for him to rest during the day.

Thanks. Today we opted to just go shopping and will head to DTD later this afternoon.

He seems to think he can go to DTD later (he didn't shop) and his fever seems to be gone.

I would rather him not push it, we do have another week here.

Dawn

so sorry your child is sick.

hope he feels better soon.

I hope your son is better by now and can enjoy the rest of the vacation.

I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying the resort. I hope your DS feels much better today. :)

Hey, haven't seen you in forever! how are you?

We did get to HS today. Had a great day but it was a lot for him. He is not 100% there yet.

I think tomorrow we will spend the day at Downtown Disney, Disney Quest, and eating at T-Rex and just relax a bit.
