Smoking pizza delivery drivers. I loathe you!

The fact that they did not offer to bring you another pizza and pop right out with another driver . Most definitely call the headquarters.

That is just plain gross !!! I would not have given him a tip either. I'm sorry, but just because someone carries out a service that you usually tip for does not necessarily mean that you have to tip them if their service is less than what is expected. When I tip I start out with 20% and depending how horrible the service is it goes down from there, including giving nothing which I always tell them why they will not be receiving their tip. To me that is rewarding them for their crappy service. I get good service, you get a good tip IMO.

I agree about going to pick it up yourself but not tipping the guy who is paying for his/her own gas to bring you a pizza is wrong.

He brought a pizza that HE made dirty.

Guess he should have thought about his tip covering his gas before turning himself into puff the magic dragon while working.

Edited for clarification:

I can see where if the pizza was bad due to prep (including a bad prepped pizza, too long delivery time, pizza is cold (could have sat on the counter which is a problem at the store--not the luck of the driver who got stuck delivering it)--don't punish the driver. But the driver is the one who made the pizza bad. Unless they are smoking at the pizza place---driver screwed up--driver loses tip.

Sorry about that--teh point was that his actions affected what he delivered.

I know i like my pizzas delivered in a clean box.

the driver affected the condition of the item delivered (even if only the containers) and thus did not earn a tip IMHO.
