Smoking or non-smoking

I reserved a water view room at POFQ and would like to stay near the pool. I’ve stayed in building 2 before, but I think that was a smoking building as our room smelled like cigarette smoke. Does anyone know if building 5 is a non-smoking building?

Hi johnnyr,

According to the map that is in the 2003 PassPorter building 2 is a smoking building. Building 5 is non-smoking according to the map. Have you put in your two requets of a non-smoking room and being near the pool? If not I would call back and get your requests added so that this way when your reservation is transmitted to the resort your requests will already be in the computer. Please just keep in mind that requests are just that and even though Disney does try to grant as many of their guests request as they can there is still a chance that your requests might not be granted.

I did request a non-smoking and water view room when I made the reservation, but I did not specify which building I am interested in. I'm going to call back and ask that my preferences be included in my reservation. I know it is not guaranteed, but it's worth a try. After reading a number of posts here, it sounds like the best bet to get what I want is by faxing the resort a few days before I arrive. I'm going to give that a try as well.

Faxing cannot hurt. Just to share some personal experiance with you. We have never faxed our requests. We usually just have them noted when we make our reservation(we always use CRO). There have been trips when we have gotten free upgrades without asking, there have been trips when we have gotten all of our requests and then there have been trips were the only thing we got was our medical request for a non-smoking room due to my husbands asthma.

I firmly believe that whether or not anyone gets their requests is a matter of luck of the draw. Good luck with getting your requests granted.

Just so you know a water view room at the POFQ costs more then a standard view. If you did not pay for a water view room then I would not get my hopes up on getting a free upgrade. If you did pay for a waterveiw room then you should not have to request it and you should get the view without as issue as you paid for it.
