Smoking on board???

I also agree that smoking should not be allowed in the clubs. We were never able to stay in there long because of the smoke. We went to the ESPN sky box and lasted 5 seconds it was so smoky.

Why can't they find out when you book if you want a smoking or a nonsmoking verandah (still no smoking in any rooms) and then put the smokers all together? I think that would help some, so we could at least enjoy or verandahs.

Of course, the perfect answer is to have the entire boat nonsmoking.

That would be a very nice idea.

Is there an "Official" policy statement anywhere regarding smoking and designated areas on-board that Disney publishes? Is it in the cruise docs? I appreciate the responses about certain locals, but I want to read it / hear it from the top.

I ask this because you cannot enforce a policy if it is not an "open" policy (the passengers are on notice).

For me, I don't want to be exposed to smoking. If smokers choose to light up in authorized areas, and if I don't want to be exposed then I'll stay away - it's their right to smoke in designated areas and I'm fine with that. It's the non-smoking areas I'm concerned about.

A warning to the smoker - don't tread on me, and I won't tread on you. Thanks!;)

For smokers who want some privacy, check out the little "secret" aft area on Deck 8. It's even less known than the one on deck 7, so even though it's very small, it's highly unlikely that anyone else will be out there. I'm not a smoker myself, but if I were, I think it would be a good spot.
On our cruise this past weekend, we witnessed the worst smoker behavior I've ever seen. We were in one adult whirlpool, and in the other was a woman smoking a cigarette and a man smoking a cigar. He was flicking his ashes into the overflow drain (which recirculates right back into the tub), and it looked like she was just letting hers drop into the water. Then they went into the pool, and he STILL had his lit cigar, standing there holding it up like a periscope! I cringed when some people went into their vacated hot tub, as I'm sure they had no idea they were about to bathe in an "ashtray."

I noticed A LOT of smokers on deck 10, once when I was sitting on a lounge chair, a stood next to me with his cigar in my face, YUCK! Plus, everyone else was smoking, I noticed it at about all areas on the deck 10 open decks. My verandah was pretty much smoke free, I don't think I really noticed it at all.

I believe Monica prefers a 'good' cigar too, but she doesn't inhale.
