Smoking in Cove Cafe??

Is smoking allowed in the Cove Cafe? I've been looking forward to spending some time there but just read in a trip report that it was a smoking area. Can any recent cruisers fill in the details? Thanks!

I do believe that it is considered a smoking area. When we were there in January there were only a couple of people in there -- did not notice any smoke.

DCL really needs to create an indoor/outdoor smoking area (preferably in the aft) of the ship and prohibit smoking in the remainder of the ship.

IMO, it is completely irresponsible that DCL conducts parties and events (like Bingo) in venues where smoking is permitted, even if it's temporarily suspended during the event. The gross smoky stank doesn't disappear when cigarettes are put out.

I read on here from someone that inside the cove cafe is no smoking but just outside the doors there is smoking. I can't remember what post this came from so maybe someone else has more info.

Ditto this post.. As you enter (outside) people are allowed to smoke.....Inside is totally smoke-free...

Yep, the seating area directly outside is smoking, and inside is smoke free. But when there are a lot of smokers outside, the smell is sucked right in whenever someone opens the door. For that reason, I avoid sitting anywhere near the main door.

Right outside the cafe is the most wonderful place to smoke a cigar. My brother-in-law and I looked forward to smoking our newly acquired cigars every night on deck 9 with our Irish coffees just ouside the cafe. They have used glass partitions to creat the space very effectivly.
