Smoking at AKL

My sister is a smoker. We will be staying in the same room at AKL and I am not. Can't stand smoke, makes me sick. So we will not have a smoking room. I know guests are not allowed to smoke on the savannahs. Are there areas where smoking is allowed? If it were up to me she would just quit, but I guess that's easier said by me than done by her -LOL?

There are smoking areas around the pools and Mara (counter service). Have a great trip!

I don't think that you can smoke anywhere on AKL property. At least I remember being told that when I checked in there last summer.

We were just there in Nov. There are quite a few places you can smoke. One of the biggest surprises for me was next to the pool side bar.

Just curious who enforces no smoking?
We were in a crowded line last year and an obvious lowlife was smoking right next to us. My wife a militant non smoker nicely told him it was a non smoking area. He said "so"? She repeated it and he did nothing. She is a martial arts instructor so I let her handle it herself. She didn't back down and neither did he. He finished his cig and then stomped it out. People all around were staring, but keeping a distance. He was with his wife and young child and could care less that a scene was happening. He had no idea how close he came to being embarrassed by gettin a wuppin from a girl.
I guess there are those types all over, I just wonder if any cm's do anything about it.

I seen some Cast Members tell guests about smoking areas, I've also seen some take action only when asked to by other guests and I've heard of CM that won't confront a guest even if asked. I've been known to mention smoking areas a time or two myself, that's why I needed to know where there might be smoking areas at the resort, because I won't let my sister light up just anywhere.

I missed the Susanville part of your sig. Great little town. I used to travel on business there about 2-3 times a year. I hope to vacation at Lake Almanor this summer.

My DD is a adamant non-smoking CM. She does not hesitate one little bit to tell a guest they are in a no smoking area.
