Smokey Mountains

One more question, for now. Was the company ok to deal with and did you have any problems with your cabin? 2 questions I quess! The woman I spoke with was great on the phone so I hope that's indicative of their customer service.

The cabins are privately owned. I had no problems with cleanliness, availability of linen or kitchen items. Finding their little office was a challenge the first time. But I have no complaints with their customer service.

We stayed at (I think it was called Bear Creek cabins) this past summer which was also through Jackson Mountain. They were unbelievably nice. And at the last minute we had to change our ressies to another week and they went out of their way to accomodate us. OVer the phone went over every cabin, what it was like, where it was, cost, etc. Didn't even charge us for the last minute change. When we got there they were extremely nice in the office too - couldn't wait to tell me about all Gaitlinburg had to offer.

IMHO, you can't go wrong with them!

And if it's not too cold you need to take the skylift up to the resort area. So much fun! There is a slide there that is incedible fun coming all the way down the mountainside!

Thanks for the :thumbsup2 on Jackson Mountain. They were so nice and helpful on the phone so I'm glad to hear that others had a good experience once they got there. It was hard to pick a cabin on-line - I found a lot I liked from the pictures. Debbie from JM helped me with location as we didn't want to be in cabin subdivision with your neighbors able to see in your windows!

The lift sounds fun and we plan on doing it if weather cooperates. I think we're skipping Dollywood and going for the relaxing - some hiking, driving through the mountains, Cade's Cove - and I understand we can't miss the Pancake Pantry!

Oh, it is so worth getting up early for. Especially if you LIKE pancakes. My DS loves the M&M with peanutbutter sauce. I like the pecan with orange sauce. My youngest just does plain ol'cakes & maple syrup.

Hi. We go every other year. I love the outlet shopping for kids clothes!! We've rented a cabin from Sunset Cottage, it was called the Birdhouse. I don't believe they have that particular cabin any longer, but it was great. We rented from Timber Tops 2 years ago. Stayed in the Wilderness Lodge, beautiful, but we paid for a lot of space that we did not need. My dh prefers a cabin, loves the hottub, so we have yet to stay at a hotel. Cades Cove is the best. We bought a picture from a local artist, Paul Murray, who has a shop along the road in Cades Cove, look him up. He's quite interesting. We spend one day in Gatlinburg.(I like it, but it's mostly shopping and not cheap)We spend time in the Smokies, and drive over the mountain to the Cherokee Reservation. Kids loved it. Don't be afraid to go stop at the little shops, they may look like nothing from the outside, but inside, the people are welcoming and full of local info. We usually do Dollywood 1 day, it is such a pretty park, and so much fun. Have a great trip. Janice
