 Good morning everyone. It is a bit chillier here today-wondering if it is a sign of the hurricane that is headed our way. The sun is coming out, and I think we will once again have a nice sunny day.

What is everyone doing today? :flower3:

Hope everything is ok. :grouphug:

Thanks, yes everything is okay. It is now starting to rain, and we will see how the weather is now till Monday or Tuesday. :wizard:

How does everyone prepare for a hurricane? Never prepared for one before.

Short list off the top of my head:

Fill up cars with gas (when storm is over, no power, no gas pumps)
Stock up on water
Stock on non-perishable foods
Pick up anything in yard that might blow away
Close up shutters on windows (some people cover their windows with plywood)
Stock up on flashlights
Batteries, batteries, batteries
Get battery radio ready
Make ice in used water containers (or used 2-liter Coke bottles). Make as much ice as possible and leave in freezer until electricity goes out and then move down to fridge - or put in ice chests)
Have prescriptions filled
Prepare a safe room in middle of house (room without windows)
Fill up bathtub with water in case you need to use it later to flush toilets
Land line phones come in handy when cell phone towers go out

Thank you very much Lucas :). We do have alot of things on that list everyday in our house, but will need to go around the house to anchor things down so it doesn't fly, and such. :flower3:

Stay safe through that if it hits.

I'm going out soon with my Mom to go and get some lunch and meet up with a friend for lunch as well. I have no idea what else I'll be doing today. I'll probably just gonna hung out. :)
Ohh the days of just hanging out, I miss them

M22, I hope the hurricane fizzles out for you. :wizard: I'm trying to be productive and pick up stuff laying around the house. I mowed the lawn yesterday and I'm still a little sore.

Its a typical muggy and hot day here today.:3dglasses

Thank you. It is a nice day, today. My daughter's friend is coming over today, so I think I will have a good nights rest tonight. :cloud9:

Wow, I was going to post to wish you luck for the big storm coming, M22, and I see a whole discussion on how to prepare :)

Good luck, and I hope that it only is a Tropical Depression or less like I heard on the news :flower3:
