Wow . Glad to know that our state is not that strict, and we can still have fun. But, you do need to get a license for purchasing bigger fireworks, and there are alot of people that purchase them for New Years Eve.

This is from the NY Times.....
In New York City, a license is required for anyone handling firewokrs, said John Mulligant, the assistant commissioner of the New York City Fire Department.
To obtain a license, a fireworks handler must provide documents showing two to four years' experience as an apprentice in pyrotechnics. Also required are a letter from an employer stating work habits, a character reference, passing a written examination, fingerprints and a photograph, said Commissioner Mulligan. The technician must be over 18 years of age.

Fireworks are dangerous, I've known kids and adults who have lost fingers/hands and worse using firecrackers (I use to work in a hospital). Please anyone using them, be careful
