Smile Original cast recording CD?

Does anyone know where I can buy the original cast recording CD of SMILE? I had NEVER heard of this musical, and now I have heard the song Disneyland, and I MUST HAVE THIS CD!!!

There actually is no original cast recording. The show closed before they could record one. I do believe there is a "demo" recording with some members of the original cast that was done some time later, but I have no idea where/how you'd buy it. I don't believe it was ever released commercially.

There is a version on iTunes by Howard Ashman himself.

It's on a CD called Ashman Sings Ashman.

It loses something if it's not Jodi Benson singing just to us.

I can imagine it would. Wish I was there to hear it. LIstening to the Podcast from PCC 2.0 is what started the search. I found a Jodi Bensen version on YouTube (no lyrics of course) and I found the lyrics on another site, but no luck in the entire CD. Thanks anyway guys!

Here is a link to a cd which you can find used on Amazon that has Jodi's version of Disneyland on it. I bought this at a store in the mid-90's after hearing her sing it at one of the old Disneyana Conventions. Maybe check one of your local Borders to see if they would have it, but not likely these days.
