We were just at Disney and had an awesome time. I am so sad to say that one of my favorite rides smelled particularly BAD while we were there! Splash Mountain is in desperate need of a water change. It smells like a nauseating mixture of sweat, foot odor, oil and lastly water. As long as I breathed through my mouth it was a blast as usual.

I've heard of this problem but never experienced it. I wonder how often the water would have to be changed on rides like Splash Mountain.

You have to use your imagination ...

It's *supposed* to smell like a swamp. :p

Well, thats exactly what I told my husband and we both giggled about it for a little while. It is part of the theming...

I noticed an algey smell where brier bear' cave is just as you peak out towards the bridge where you watch the people plunge. The next day going past that same spot I didn't smell it so they must have killed it with a disenfectant that night. I have never really noticed a smell about the water except that one area.

Every time I ride Splash I have to go wash my hands. They smell like mildew from hanging on to the handles!!! That is one of the only rides I have ever been on where I felt like I need to take a real bath after getting wet!!:) It's my favorite though, so I have to sacrifice!:)
