Some of you may have read my thread yesterday re: vegetarian dog food. I'd found an interesting article written by a University of Florida veterinarian, in which he recommended a particular dog food as being the next best thing to home-cooked meals for dogs; the dog food happened to be vegetarian.
My rescue dog has been very smelly (even immediately after a bath) and very itchy. I had read on some of the DISboard dog food threads that premium dog foods can help with skin conditions and certain horrendously abnormal dog smells
(not just the normal doggy odor
).
Well, I've fed my dog the new dog food twice and her awful smell is GONE! I'm amazed it happened so fast! I can't tell yet whether her itchiness is gone, but I've read this can take 6-8 weeks to resolve, so I'll see how that goes. Just wanted to share the news that the food REALLY WORKED for her smell!
