I have never had a smartphone/data plan and now that I'm finally looking into it, I'm realizing I'm pretty clueless! We have been with verizon for 10+ years, and I'm planning on switching to straight talk when our contract is up, but that won't be until September. I'd really like to have a smartphone for our upcoming disney trip, so we can get the disneypark app. It looks like I can add a data plan with verizon now for only $10 more a month, but it gives only 75mb of data. I don't really know what this means, or if it is enough data to use this app?
Also, as far as purchasing a smartphone, I don't want to buy through verizon because they are either really expensive or you have to extend your contract 2 years. Is is possible to buy a smartphone elsewhere (amazon, ebay?) and use with verizon? If so, would I be able to use this same phone when I switch to straight talk later this year? Any phone recomendations that would work for this situation? Thank you for any help!!
