You could buy an iPod touch. They're slightly cheaper than an iPhone, but work just like one, minus the calling feature and cellular data. They run on wifi only, so you could still use it in the park to access MDE.

I will look into the price of one. It does appear that we will be forced into owning a smartphone sometime in the future. Lots of places now have only online coupons that you need a smartphone to use.

I have been looking at one that is about $250 with a 13 mp camera and 32 GB storage. Plus you can add in extra storage with a memory card. It has dual sim card so if you do decide on using as a phone in the future you can and even have one for in the US.

Look for refurbished phones on Amazon and eBay. I bought one recently and it was in great condition and works perfectly. Total cost: $120. Yeah, it's a couple of years old, but it has Android 5.1.1, which is good enough for MDE. I don't get why people spend so much on these phones.

Your smartphone will change your life. I seriously remember getting the original iphone the day it came out because of my tech husband. I didn't understand why we had to go first thing after work. Then I had it in my hands and it was like magic and unicorns and rainbows. You'll be so glad you got one!

I guess I will be getting a smartphone! Just was checking out my cell phone for work and it will no longer work come next year. It doesn't have a SIM card so it won't work with the new upgrades to the cell service. I use a prepaid plan since I rarely need the cell phone but if there is an emergency then I need one. I am going to stick with a smartphone that I can continue to use with the prepaid plan.
