I finally got the chance to upgrade to a true smart phone!

Now I need to know what the best apps are that relate to photography. I have an Android 2.2 system, but feel free to share info about apps from other systems, so we can all learn. This is one topic that I cannot remember being covered very much on this board.

Good idea for a thread! I can't help with Android, but for my iphone the ones I use the most are:

Photogene - think photoshop for the phone, but I like it better than the photoshop app
CameraBag - simple to use with some great filters
Diptic - allows you to take 2-4 pictures and combine them into a collage - very easy to use with great results!

I too would love to hear other thoughts!

I love the HDR Pro App

Photography-related apps I use on Android are:
Vignette (paid)
PicSay Pro
Depth of Field Calculator

Ooooh, ahhhh....... What kind of a phone did you get? And does anyone know when Gingerbread comes out for Droid phones?

As far as apps are concerned I can't live without the depth of field calculator. The free one works just fine. I don’t use the phone camera that much so I haven't downloaded any other apps yet.

We have been on MetroPCS for about seven years because the monthly price is just too hard to beat. They finally started offering an Android phone just before Thanksgiving. It is a LG Optimus M. They offer similar versions for a couple other carriers. It is not the latest and greatest, but will work well enough for my needs. The best part is the rate. It is only $50(after taxes) a month for unlimited everything.

When I first got my iPhone I threw on the Olympus App and a Photography Encyclopedia, primarily for reading during waits at doctors offices and things like that. I have to get back in there to see if there are any new Apps that I'd enjoy. Interested in seeing what everyone else has.

for iphone i curretly have phototrainer, i love this being the noob i am, also colorsplash and camerabag

...does anyone know when Gingerbread comes out for Droid phones?

The Gingerbread SDK is out, so app developers can start getting their apps ready for Gingerbread. Judging from previous updates (2.01, 2.1, and 2.2), it can take months for the manufacturers/carriers to push out an update to us. Part of the delay is caused by the manufacturers making their UI overlays (HTC has Sense, Motorola had MotoBlur, Samsung has TouchWiz, etc.) work with the new OS. Phones with the stock Google experience (Nexus 1 and upcoming Nexus S) get the udpate first, because it comes straight from Google.

I have an iPad wanted to know if there are good photo editing apps for it? any suggestions? I did a lot of search and now am confused between color effects, color splash and photo delight. please help!

Great - thanks - the app is cheap too at $1.99, just bought it. I like the gorillapod for iphone - I hadn't even thought about a tripod.

I've got an iPhone, and one of the biggest helps I found was getting the PDF of my camera owner's manual, I then put that on my iPhone. So whenever I need to look something up I can click on iBooks and it is right there.

I just picked up a film :scared1: camera - a Lomo Fisheye 2 which has a fixed lens (F8) and shutter speed (1/100), though it has a bulb mode (my finger on the shutter).

I was wondering if anyone has come across an app that has exposure tables? I have downloaded the dSLR Toolkit for Dummies, which has some suggested settings, but they are not very extensive. Given I will now have a fixed ISO (whatever the film speed is), it would be useful to know what shutter speeds I need to achieve (by counting under my breath) to get a proper exposure.

Thanks!
