What sort of photography based applications have you downloaded to your smart phone that you are finding very useful?

Not all smart phones are created equal so be sure to specify which phone MODEL you are using and then tell us about the app and what you like about it.

For Example Marlton Mom is using a Droid X and she has downloaded a Depth of Field calculator by Allen Zhong that is working well for her. I like the fact that it is free and input is relatively easy.

Since I just purchased a AFS Nikkor 35mm 1.8 lens this app is absolutely essential, especially for my Bifocal wearing middle aged 47 year old lady eyes.

As a side note I just love reading the reviews before I consider downloading any apps. Reviewers are sure call attention to any deficits with the App.

Let's hear it people! It's time to stop rocking those antique flip phones and embarrassing your camera equipment. :sad2:

Hey...... I resemble that statement! Actually I resemble the one about the 47 year old eyes too.... but that's another matter.

So you're saying I can't download apps on the free flip phone I got in 07???? :lmao:

I'm reading along though. You guys might drag me out of the dark ages yet. :cool1:

I have an iPhone, so far I have 24 different photography related apps, some serious, some fun toys..

just Sunday I used a DOF app as I scouted a venue I'm shooting this Saturday night, I'll be spending 5 hours in a dance studio shooting 6 dance troupes as they perform bellydance routines, the lighting bites, so I was trying to see how wide I could go and still get a sufficient shutter speed to stop action, and have enough depth to capture 2 rows of dancers..it's gonna be a nightmare.

now on a better note my favorite photo app is iMut8r, I can take a pic with my phone , then turn the person into a vampire, werewolf, zombie, witch, freakenthing, demon, or ghould..it's awesome...:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I have 2 apps in the app store photography related. They are Disney wallpaper apps. The apps feature photos from Matt Pasant, Cory Disbrow, Tom Bricker and myself.

As for other apps, there are several I like.

LightTrac shows you where the sun and moon will rise and set and the times.

Nikon Learn and Explore is a great free app that has tons of tips and tricks.

f/8 is one I use to determine depth of field. They include camera models and lenses.

Droid X with the following third-party apps:
Camera Zoom FX (camera app I dont' use)
Depth of Field Calculator
JustPictures! (use for viewing my Flickr sets)
Photoshop Express (don't use)
PicSay Pro (use for photo editing)
Pro Zoom Camera 5X (camera app I don't use)
Strawberry (like DOF Calc)
Vignette (full version) (camera app I use most, also for image editing)

I use DoggCatcher to listen to a bunch of photography podcasts, watch video podcasts, and RSS feet photography sites/blogs.

I use SDrescan to force the device to refresh if an image I've moved to the pictures folder isn't showing up in the gallery.

I haven't gone searching for photography app in a very long time, so I don't know if there are any good new ones. I use Vignette, PicSay Pro and JustPictures a lot.

I have a Droid X also- most or all are free

DroidLight - I still carry a little LED flashlight when night shooting but it's kind of handy too
Google Sky Map - For shooting star trails or astronomy- just kind of cool in general
FXCamera - Kind of fun faux toy camera app but the novelty wore off quick
Photographic Light Meter - Downloaded to use with my non-metering film camera but so far I'm too lazy to try it in lieu of guesstimation
Photography Assistant - Downloaded this and have never used it- I think it has an EV scale and DOF calculator- meh
Radar Now - Simple app to detect your location and give you a quick weather radar
Checkmark - Nice To-Do list app I use for work
Barcode Scanner - Scans an item in a store and finds better deals locally and online
MyFitnessPal - Great nutrition / calorie counter app- also has a huge food library with a lot of carb info for my dd who has t1 diabetes

I have an iPhone 4.

I use:

1) Camera+ (I got it before the developer screwed up and the app was pulled)
2) and the default camera application

I also have Paul's WDW Picture Pack and Scott Bourne's wildlife and wolves picture apps.
