Small World - with Famous Faces!

How do you feel about adding Disney Characters to the It's a Small World ride?

  • Leave a classic alone! Don't add the characters.

  • Interesting idea, but I'll hold my final judgement for after the changes are made.

  • Let's see what the Imagineers have in mind. I approve of the changes, as long as they are minor.

  • Time to overhaul a tired old ride! PLEASE change it up however Disney sees fit.

I apologize if this has already been posted/reported here, but I was curious about Disers opinions...

Disney has decided to add select Disney characters to the landscapes of the Small World ride during its current revamp. Apparently this is to follow the model already in use at its Hong Kong counterpart. See the links that follow...

How do you feel about the character additions? As long as they add to the same style and don't take away from the original design, children and song, I think that it's an interesting idea. :goodvibes

I saw the pictures from miceinfo.com
and the additions aren't obtrusive but quite cute. But adding the United States? Come on, we already live there plus just go to CA adventure

I saw the pics...I'm sorry, but Cinderella just looks scary as a ISW figure.

whats the website with pictures??? the on above doesn't work.

I don't know I'm on the fence... I love all things disney so i like how they are adding bits and pieces but I also think they should have just left it the way it was

My signature pretty much sums up my feelings on the subject.

Hate the idea. It cheapens and completely alters the original intent of the ride. The children of the world are the stars, not Disney characters. Put Disney characters in it and that all changes. Instead of getting the message of children from different countries with unique cultures singing as one voice, it will become "Spot the Disney Character" and the other dolls become background filler. I don't care what they do to the Hong Kong version or any other version for that matter, but LEAVE the original alone. If they want to "plus" the attraction, there are many other ways to do it, such as making the building itself look like less of a warehouse and make it better suited to showcase the sets.

Well I like it!:thumbsup2 I love disneyland and one of the great things about disneyland is the charecters! I mean think about it.... if you didn't see the movies you wouldn't want to go to disneyland cause it wouldn't be as memorable you wouldn't want to go to see mickey or snow white ect... and then it wouldn't be special and people wouldn't go and there would be no disneyland! And it doesn't look like they have made it funny looking or to outstanding so i for one so far think its a thumbs up!:) If they had made it seem really diffrent and stand out then i understand but it looks subtile enough!

Ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto, and ditto! They should leave it alone.
