I've been waiting to get a quote for over a week! I don't know what is going on. Anyone know if they are just massively backed up or something?

Also, if anyone has experience with any of the below, i would appreciate your info:
*Small World Vacations
*Dreams Unlimited
*Magical Journeys

TIA!

Was not impressed with small world. Dreams did a nice job and great follow thru. We are just too consumed with details for a travel agent and it gives us pleasure to plan and tweak, etc.

Did not try the third one you mentioned.

Go to my web page and click on the link for Magical Vacations. I am using them myself. They all get the same rates. It all depends on the extras they throw on. Magical vacations will do your PS and any other things you need done. If you happen to want to go to the Polynesian you can do the "Tiki Plan" and you will get a fresh flower lei right from Hawaii or even a gift basket from the Big Island of Hawaii depending on what package you book.

Here is the link and go to my banner "Magical Vacations" at the bottom of that page is a link to Magical Vacations.

Thanks for all your responces!

I feel dumb... my spam filter (postini) contained it as porn! Geez, never put honeymoon in an email. I have had it since two days after I requested.

All the rates are the same, so now on to the perks. Thanks!!!

I am glad to hear that about small world..I am going through Jodi there and she has been super!!!!

I have used Dreams Unlimited many times and have been nothing but pleased. They are truly an excellent customer service organization. My agent, Liz, is a joy to work with. Dreams will make any priority seatings you need (and they have even been able to get me Cindy's breakfast on one of my trips) and provides a customized itinerary for you. I highly recommend them. ::yes::

I sent DU an email this week about switching a reservation over to them. I never got a reply. :(

We used Josephine at Small World to book our upcoming vacation and she has been nothing less than wonderful! I've had to change our reservations a couple times (due to good things), but she has accommodated all our requests without a problem. She handled all our PS and sent confirmations numbers to keep with our other info that has been sent.

I've never had to wait more than 24 hours for a response from her (and she is readily available via phone, but I prefer email -- I like things in writing).

:jumping1:

We used Diana from Small World Travel for 3 trips so far and have been nothing but impressed with her. She is pretty quick with responding to our emails, changing reservations, and continuously looking for a better rate. Sorry to hear about your bad experience.

Oh, good to hear about Small World! Stephanie had my quote the very next morning.... Today I got a follow-up email. I am very pleased and impressed with them so far.

Hotmail does tend to siphon things off to junk mail....this has happened to me countless times!

I almost used DU for my mother's day rez. But like Suzywindy I'm a tweaker and the lag time between question and response was too much for me. I'd rather call Disney myself so I can ask all my questions and then some!;)

I have been working with Sandy at Small World, and she has been excellent. I requested quotes from MouseEars Vacations and Dreams Unlimited as well, but Sandy was the only one of the three who responded to my email with a phone call. (And she called within 6 hours of my requesting the quote!) She also gave me her toll-free number along with her email in case I had questions that might be easier to answer over the phone. I think it all depends on the agent assigned to handle your quote -as in any business, some employees are better than others. Good luck with your planning!

I know I will be in the minority here, but I was not impressed with Small World. I contacted them when we decided to plan our trip. There is a place on their form for information about yourself and I put that we had never been to WDW before and that we did not know which WDW resort to book. I wrote several paragraphs about ourselves and asked for advice on choosing a resort. You had to pick a resort and a second choice for the email to go through and I did so. There was also a spot that asked if you wanted them to go ahead and book a reservation for you. I put NO. They contacted me a couple of days later and had BOOKED the resort for us! It was obvious that they hadn't even bothered to read my email. When I am dealing with a company on the Internet, I want to at least be sure that my emails are READ! I didn't even bother to reply. I just booked the whole trip myself and I think I did a good job!

Weird,
I don't see anywhere on the form that asks if you want them to book the resort or not.

I understand why travel agents hold the reservations though. I have been in a spot where I have called for prices, didn't put it on hold, only to call back later that day and the availability wasn't there anymore.

Sounds like you didn't want to book it through them anyway.

I have to agree with ga9497. I want a quote from someone who makes a reservation for me, not just gives me a price and then goes to book it and ***poof*** no more of that room is left. Its like going shopping and trying something on you like, but no being sure so you put it on hold. No one else can buy it until the time expires but you have to make a choice and pay for it before its really yours. :teeth:

Typically, they expire after seven days if you don't make a deposit. But at least the room is on hold in case you do want it.

There is a spot that asks you if you are willing to book (as in deposit) right away if there aren't any discounts avaliable.

I still never heard back from DU about transferring a reservation. Guess I will try Small World.

Dreams Unlimited. or Magical Journeys -

I'm sure either of 2 will be fantastic. There have been many GREAT things said on this board about Dreams Unlimited and I don't think you should hesitate to use them. They seem to be very reputable.
I personally have used Magical Journeys and they were also Great. Melissa saved us $30 at Pop Century(a 1 night stay) and over $500(3 night stay) at the Poly (LV concierge). I will use her from now on when booking my Disney vacation.
