Small Side Entrance for DHS?

Is there an alternate small entrance at DHS? I thought I read something about this but can't find the thread. As many times as I've been to DHS I've never noticed anything but the main entrance turnstiles. I'm wondering because when we were there the last time, in 2014, we parked in the Handicapped lot which is a pretty long walk to security check and Guest Relations. If there is an entrance near that lot, that I would assume goes up to Guest Relations, it would be a good thing for someone who has 2 bad knees and walks with a cane. Every saved step is appreciated. :)

I don't think so on the alternative entrance. When we were there in 2013 the handicapped parking spaces were just across the roadway from the main entrance. About 50 feet.

Might be thinking about the little separate bag check. I don't know if that's still in use.

There is a smaller separate entrance into the parking lot located over across from the Boardwalk. You can go in that way instead of through the main Studios gate entrance. But it just takes you into the same parking lot and through the same turnstiles. Is that maybe what you are thinking about?

There is a separate bag check at DHS that is right before Guest Relations, which we use ALL the time, the line is so short. After you pass thru that bag check, you end up at the regular entrance where you must scan your bands/tickets. :)

This must be what I was thinking of.

Thanks everyone.

The only Parks with alternate entrances are DAK with the Rainforest Cafe entrance and Epcot with the International Gateway entrance.

Epcot is also the only Park Guests can enter WITHOUT a ticket!;)(Think about it.:))

That is a good one but oh so true. I have entered Epcot numerous times with out a ticket!

Sure you can enter, but just as you are about to make it to world showcase, nope! They turn you around and "shuttle" you back on out of the park! :rotfl2:

I was going to say. I've only gone through the International Gateway once, but, I was required to show a ticket. Where would one get the idea that you can enter without one.

As for the small entrance to DHS, the only thing I thought they were asking was the alternate entrance to the parking lot. That is there and unless you aren't in a hurry, I don't suggest using it. It has only one or two parking lot fee booths and it can get really bottle necked in there at times. That may be where the confusion came in though. The difference between entering the DHS parking lot and the DHS park. Either entrance will bring you to the one singular DHS Park entrance.

..............

This is a bit of a riddle and you have to think about it a bit. I have entered Epcot numerous times without a ticket and it is true that you will be whisked back out before you reach World Showcase. Everybody should try it at least once a trip!

Lol. I think they are referring to the fact that you actually enter the park via the monorail if you ride to Epcot from the TTC. It takes you inside the gates on a tour of future world before you get off. So, you can actually enter Epcot without a ticket.

I agree. You also get a bird's eye view while in the park without a ticket. The rush you get takes you to new heights.

:thumbsup2

Also,"technically" one could say they are entering DAK without a ticket when they enter Rainforest Cafe.

It is considered "part" of DAK-it is shown on the Guide map as being part of Oasis.:)

Cute, but, not really helpful unless it is explained. If anyone wants to decide that they have entered a park because the rode over it in a Monorail, I guess the same thing could be said if you flew over it in an airplane. Close, but, no cigar.

That was pretty good.:)
