Do you need to place cell phones, and cameras in those baskets at the check point? also do you have to put jewlery in one [wedding rings etc.] or just watches?

I want to have everything out that I need out before I get there.

You have no idea what fun it is going through on a scooter.

Real gold/platinum jewelry will not alarm, unless you're wearing as much of it as Mr. T. Keep it on, including the watch if it is small. If you have a big watch, put it in your carryon for security. Costume jewelry should be placed in your carryon from the start.

The only electronic device that has to be out on it's own is a laptop. You can put all your other electronics securely inside your carryon bag.

Best bet for security is to empty all pockets into your carryon before even approaching the checkpoint, and take off your shoes and metal-buckled belt, too, if you can. The only thing you should be carrying on your person is your ID and your boarding pass.

Great questions - I wouldn't have thought about putting my watch in carry-on! Glad I don't have to worry about the wedding rings. Thanks for the tips and for posting the question!

Did you say you are going through on a scooter? This will probably mean hand wanding or a pat down.
That will change the whole process for you . . . you get to keep your shoes on :cool2: among other things.
Might be able to get more accurate info on the process over on the DisAbilities board - http://disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20

Video cameras will also have to be placed separately in a bin.

Oh I am quite familiar with going through on the scooter, I have flown with it many times and the shoe thing varies, they usually still make you take me off and check them but not always, I will have slippers anyway.
It is the Xray machine etc. that I don't usually have to deal with. [someone else does]

I never take my watch or rings off to go through security. Camera and phones stay in my bag.

Video cameras will also have to be placed separately in a bin.

Only video cameras that use tapes need to come out, and that is hit or miss depending on the screeners.

Video cameras that use mini DVDs don't need to come out.
