small dilemma

There is a possibility that my mom may join us on our upcoming trip. We already have a package deal set up that she wouldn't need (10 day no expire and dining plan). I have two old hoppers she can use, so she only needs to buy a 3 day ticket. So how can I add her to the room without having to get the package for her? I was thinking of just adding her to the room once we got down there, but then she can't take DME from the airport to the resort.

Any advice??

You can add her to your room at anytime, just tell them she will not be a part of the package. With the addition of MYW you can pick and choose who has what within the packages. Everyone in your party could have something different or nothing at all. Just make sure that they know she will be staying with you but does not require any of the package components.

Do I have to make a separate reservation for her? The reason I ask is because when I added our friends to our ressie I was told they have to have the same package as we did. Luckily that was okay with them.

I'm pretty sure that's not true. Everyone in a package room has to be on the same package, with the same tickets and extras (DME, Dinning ect).

To the OP - from reading these boards my opinion would be that it MAY be possible to add her at the front desk to your package room. It appears that the front desk CMs have the ability to do so and some have reported it happening. If they do add her for you they may or may not charge you an extra adult charge ($10 per night value/$15 per night mods/$25 per night deluxe) however, I do not believe you can add her prior to her arrival without buying her the same package as you. If she is not on the reservation she will not be allowed to use DME (this is being reported over on the transportation board often)

I don't believe this is accurate. With MYW packages, you can pick and choose the different components - however, everyone in the room has to have the same thing.

Sorry, this is incorrect information. Everyone in a room must be on the same package as others have said.

We actually tried to do something similar and were told that all persons staying in the room had to be on the same package deal.

Does anyone know if I can offer to pay for her to ride DME? Maybe I'll go ask that over on the transportation board.

You can pay for her to be transported from the airport to the hotel (through Mears transportation), but I would call back and ask to speak to a supervisor or a coordinator and see if they will add her. I have been a CM for 10 years (5 in front desk Operation support/room assignment) and the information that I have provided to you is the information that we have been told. So if I am wrong I apologize, but from the front desk information the booking agents CAN do this...

If they do not allow you to do this, when you check in advise the CM that she is with you but not a part of the package. They will need to check in your reservation as is so that those that are to have the package will and then they can add her. After the package has "exploded" they can add additional people that will not affect the package.
