Small Cameras

I know someone started a thread about the best point and shoot cameras but I need some advice about those really small, easy to carry cameras. The cameras I mean are like the Elphs and really slim Coolpix. I have 2 digital cameras, a Canon Powershot A70 which is bulky and a Canon Powershot S3 IS which is huge and currently won't turn on.
I'm looking for something that takes good pictures but I can easily carry into the parks everyday. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly apprecitated!

I agree with a previous poster about cameras that the photo boards are way ahead of me....I just needed some advice from some "regular" picture takers which small compact camera they have liked or not liked. I'm going in August so I want to get something soon so I can play! Thanks for any advice.

After months of research, we bought a Canon SD1100 IS. Love it! Small, easy to use, takes really nice shots with rich color. People keep saying "these pictures look like postcards!" The battery life is pretty good, had to change the battery after about a day and a half of use. Had a 2GB card, took over 500 pics at decent resolution, and still wasn't full. Pretty happy with the shutter lag time. And, it comes in pretty colors too! HTH

I have the Casio Exilim. It's very slim-I fit it in a very small Travelon bag. Mine is a year or 2 old and is 7.2 megapixels. I believe the new version is at least 10. I bought the 2 megapixel version in 2004. It was REALLY slim and actually took very nice pictures.

I currently use the S3 IS, and yes, a bit larger. My wife recently started using the Canon A590 IS http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=183&modelid=16336. Not as small as the Elph, but not really all that big either. And packed with great features.

I have a Fujifilm Finepix Z20FD 10MP digital camera. It's super tiny and I love it. There's a pic in my Sept 08 Pre-Trip report (link in signature)
